Topic: Good Camera Substitutes

I'm considering getting the Logitceh Quickcam Pro9000, but I'm wondering if there are cameras with just as good quality or a bit less (not a lot) that are cheaper. If you take a look at my brickfilms ( http://www.youtube.com/user/Exokid656 ) you can see camera bumps. I need either a camera with a remote capture or links directly to my laptop. I still prefer the 9K but don't want to dig too much into my funds if not necessary. Thanks to all if you can help! mini/smile

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

You could try going with the PS3 EyeToy.  I believe it has manual focus and has a pretty decent picture.

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

Does it come wit the PS3? I don't have any consoles except the computer... mini/dizzy

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

I don't think so.

You could try the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000. They are selling on ebay for less than $20USD.

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

How good is the 4000? That's an amazing price!

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

What camera did you use for the movie you posted? You may be able to connect that to your laptop.

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

So far, all my brickfilms have been using an Olympus Digital Camera D-550 Zoom 3.0 megapixel. It's a dinosaur of a camera. It came out when digital cameras first came out. And it doesn't have remote capture or hook up to my laptop for pics. mini/sad

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

I looked it up, and you can connect to your computer but monkey jam won't recognize it. mini/sad  Like they said, go with the 4000.

Re: Good Camera Substitutes

The Quickcam Pro 4000 is good. When you want HD, move to the 9000. I bit the bullet and got it on amazon for $70. Also, if you want a smaller webcam for getting into small spaces, the quickcam deluxe for notebooks and the quickcam pro for notebooks (now the portable webcam C905). You've got tons of options. Also, if you don't want bumps with your still camera, screw it onto a tripod.
