Topic: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

I'm pretty sure that enough people use it, so I need help! No matter what I do I can't get it on a very solid and good setting, the sound gets messed up and I'm not sure how to get it to the best setting (Like in The Oven) Help!

Re: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

Hmm.  There aren't really any settings on the mic to change if I recall correctly.  I basically plugged it in, recorded in audacity, and it came out like that.  Make sure you're not too close to the microphone.  What software are you trying to record with?

Re: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

Oh, there's the problem haha. It must be that I'm recording in WMM, because the quality is always a bit worse there. I just downloaded Audacity and I haven't tried it yet, so I'll begin to check it out and mess around with that. Thanks!

Re: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

You can adjust sensitivity, though. I used to make the mistake of putting it near my mouth. But it works best if you leave it on your desk and just talk.

Where are you recording? Try a nice, small closed room with nobody else in it.

"actuallly this involves spiderman too, not batman. but im also taking a new approach, more comedy, less action. i dont see to many movies like that with more comedy than action" --SteveStarfyTV on an Indiana Jones meets Star Wars idea.

Re: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

Yeah, that was my main problem. It would either be so sensitive you could barely hear or it was terribly quite. I think I can make something work now. mini/wink
And yes, I record in my room, where it's pretty small and stuff. mini/smile

Re: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

Well a way I ensure good mic quality is to put the mic right near mouth for clarity. But I pull a very thin cloth between me and the mic to avoid popping or air pressure.

Re: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

That's a good idea (with the cloth), because my microphone lately has been either too soft or too sensitive. This will surely help. Thanks!

Re: Logitech USB Microphone Troubles

If you go to RadioShack, you can pickup a nice mic for about 20 to 50 bucks. This includes a windscreen that eliminated popping and what-not. I bought one to do some band recording/interviewing/podcasting stuff and it works great! Definetly worth the investment.

I just got my Logitech USB Microphone a few months ago, and that was $30. I'm definitely not buying a new microphone haha.
