"in use by another app is usually a driver conflict or a virus. if you have a 3n1 printer or a scanner unplug it and reboot the pc see if you get the same message. if not update the scanner or printer drivers. if the messgae return even after the reboot try a clean boot next.

2. Question: I am trying to connect to skype with my webcam, but I can't get the microphone to work.
Answer: Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
Go to http://www.fixya.com/support/t2212649-no_sound_from_mic to find out how to setup your webcam with a specific messenger program.

4. Question: I installed the quickcam software, and it is working properly, but when i visited logitech's website to download additional video effects ( Avatars and faces) they will not install. I have tried opening the file directly, which is supposed to go to the Quickcam program and place the new avatar or face accessory in the current list there. I have uninstalled the software, and installed it again, but it still is not working.
Answer: You must reinstall quickcam clean
