I like the fact that there are no limitations with animating, unlike live action where you need actors and junk like that.

I started doing it A: I was incredibly bored when I moved (and for a short while had no friends
)
and B: I've always loved designing sets. Put two and two together, found it to be a good spare time activity
(it's a bit more than a spare time thing now, but hey)
I like the fact that there are no limitations with animating
I agree completely. In stopmotion, because you already do things frame by frame, you can do any number effect with movements and so on that you can't do in live action.
I do it because I have only one friend in this town that I actually hang out with (and that's Gustav, who has helped me with a few films, he's awesome), but mostly because I love to film, and you can do pretty much everything with stop-motion.
I do it because it's awesome! Whenever one of my friends see one of my videos they're like "WOAH TEH LEGOS R MOVING" and that, my friends, is a reward in itself.
No idea. Probably because, if I don't, these guys start complaining.
I started brickfilming for a few reasons:
I've always liked animation (in the mid 1980's, I'd make little flip animations in the margins of school workbooks and paperbacks.)
The technology to do it has become affordable for amateurs.
The "Interweb" (as Tracey Jordan calls it) provides resources (like BiM) and inspiration (watching other brickfilms). Without seeing brickfilms on the internet, I doubt I would've ever imagined to do it on my own. And without BF.com and on-line tutorials, I likely would have never done the research on my own to figure out how to do it.
I've got a story I feel is worth telling.
The limitations and ease of motion of LEGO minifigs make them easier to animate with than more articulated figures or models.
Easier than claymation.
Making sets is usually quick and easy compared to other model construction. LEGO parts are re-usable.
I've got a decent sized LEGO collection. Brickfilming gives me something worthwhile to do with it.
It's something I can do with my kids. As they get older, they'll be able to contribute more if they have the desire.
I feel it's a better hobby than just entertaining myself with TV, movies, video games because I'm creating something and I'm having to overcome the array of technical and physical challenges that getting the shot right requires.
I also just feel compelled to, not sure why.
I guess that's more than a few. ![]()

I hope you're not serious... ![]()
I started because I thought it would be fun. I first experimented by making my minifigs breakdance, then when the Lego Star wars Movie Making Challenge came around, I decided to enter. I continued with films like Tetris, Harriet, and Extreme Lego Breakdancing. I then converted to the QC9K and made DWT and J'aime.
I brickfilm because it is a combination of two of my favourite things, Lego, and movie making. The possibilities with it are endless, and the final results are always rewarding. ![]()

Since a very young age, I drew pictures in the form of comic strips. I enjoyed doing this but I always wanted a way to make the pictures move to achieve certain actions. When I saw a brickfilm for the first time, I really wanted to try it out because to me it seemed like a step up from comics (they move!). I had lots of Lego that was just lying around, not being used. I tried animating it, and I thought it was fun so I kept filming.
I animate cos I want to end up doing 3D animation as a job, and I had a bunch of Lego from when I used to build with it, and so I figured, Hey Ill make brickfilms!
I... don't know. ![]()
