Getting a it through a university can bump the price down to around 300. That's what I did.

It's not editing software, it's for special effects.
If your a student or have a relative who is a student you can get them to purchase it for a reduced student price.
That's incredibly cheap there. I bought this from them. You can get After Effects very cheap....
