I'm sorry, but instead of buying a new computer to handle the QC9k, why didn't you spend the money on a different still camera or video camera?
Capedkid... it seems as though you want a new computer to use your camera. This doesn't make a lot of sense.
Why in the world would you buy a new computer to use a camera? A new camera would be cheaper, and there are more alternatives than that could be cheaper and let you use your camera.
A copy of windows, or better yet a copy of windows and vmware would let you use the 9k. You could try and use iStopmotion for animation if you got a new camera, and if you got windows you could use monkeyjam or SMP. There are so many alternatives to buying a new laptop for filming. There's great software you can use on the Mac. Final Cut Express, dude. And how do you have After Effects? it costs more than the computer, I bet.
Edit, half offtopic. Seriously, stop saying stuff like "I dunno?!" because you seem like you're asking US whether you don't know or not. We don't know if you don't know. If you do in fact know why, I'd like to know. If not, I just clearly told you why you should not spend the money on a new laptop rather than a new camera or an OS.
Edit 2: DUDE. You got a computer with Ubuntu to handle your 9k? You didn't go with Mac OR Windows?

Apologies, read this wrong.
Again, punctuation isn't your strong spot, is it?
Also, you still haven't answered most of my post.
BTW, classy name calling.
Btw I do have AE; I got it last Xmas!
And that 'name-calling' wasn't even name calling it was just something to show how annoyed at you I am! ![]()
Those good old days, where people FIRST needed to make a good film BEFORE they got good stuff...
Look will everyone stop criticising me; I had the money to buy it and I bought it! So let this thread DIE!
We're just asking questions, which we haven't really gotten answers to.
Why in the world would you buy a new computer to use a camera?
Because I needed a new computer without all my games overloading my Hard Drive.
And also I didn't have any Hard Drive wiping software. ![]()
Hope I awnsered all you wanted to know. ![]()
Secure empty trash? How many games can you have on Mac? Enough to fill up the drive?
Yeah in total on my Mac I have 37 games with a total of 4 gig each so yeah.
There are still alternatives to getting a new laptop. Getting rid of some games, moving them to an external drive, getting a new internal drive...
Leave him, if he thinks he did the right thing, he will find out later that he didn't, but he's too young to understand that (altough NOS seems a bit smarter, and he's younger)
Splodge I have both so just be quiet and let this thread DIE!
