Which one after effects or Effects lab pro
which one is an overall better program
Taking in price ease of use and strength in mind which one is better out of the two because i am looking for some efects software and editing program and i am leaning torwards after effects
Also i want to do CGI eventually sooo yeah

AE, period.
I used FXHome in when I was youger, but now I finally understand After Effects (video-copilot=awesome) and that program can do much more then FXHome. Still, FXHome isn't that bad.
and AE isn't for CGI... You should download Blender, or buy Carrara (my personal favourite when it comes to CGI programs).
After Effects is better.
But if you have loads of money and a Mac: Final Cut Studio 2. You can get it for 650 bucks at Amazon.

In my honest opinion you simply CANNOT beat After Effects, provided you're prepared for a steep learning curve.

You should watch this site for CGI Lego bricks BTW: www.ldraw.org (you should get the newest parts library and LeoCad) so you can import them in Carrara when you have the program. You still need some practice when you have Carrara. But you can always ask: Smeagol, Nick Durron, or me about it.
Uhh okay first question can Carrera 7 pro work on a 2 year old computer?
And When I go to the store online to buy it there is like 30 different choices like different liscening so which one do i buy
I just suggest you buy This.
And then get all the other stuff you want.
And why should he buy a new computer? If you have enough memory your computer can work with CGI easly. Only the rendering costs time.

You could just use blender instead.

This is the only site that sells Carrara.

He isn't looking for the latest version, he asked about 6, right now the official site is only selling 7. And that's not accurate anyway.
There are other sites that sell Carrara, Academic Superstore is good if you are a student as they offer discounts. And of course there are probably some people selling old versions on Ebay.
