Erm you could try FL studio, the trial as I think it lets you export still, but it may not let you save projects.
Or try acoustica mixcraft.
By not cheap he meant not low-end, he didn't mean inexpensive.

Hi, does anybody know that free music making dise I think came in a cerial box?

www.incompetech.com has some great tracks.
I use Mixcraft, and I compose for some dudes over here (Darkman, Frozen Bricks, Hazzat etc.) and they are all happy with what I'm making on that program so, you should try the trial.
