Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Doubt

Superbly written and acted, though I think it made too much glaring use of the dutch angle for my liking.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Public Enemies

Wow, great. One of my favorites of 2009.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I've heard it's really unconventional, and therefore I want to see it.

Into the Wild

Saw this for the second time yesterday, at a theater. I was impressed. It has this real emotional impact.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Dark Knight

I love movies where stuff blows up. That's why I loved this one.
When I first saw Two-Face I jumped. OMG the effects on his face were so well done.
Made my top 5.

A.i. (Artificial Intelligence)

I'm going to have to say this was probably the most epic Steven Spielburg film I've seen. I thought the visuals and the cinematography were going to be the high-point of this movie, it turned out to be the story, it's not very often that happens. The CGI was also the best I've ever seen in any movie. The acting also was done great by all, Haley Joel Osment did an awesome job. I can't believe I haven't seen this movie until today.
Cinematography: 9/10

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Tranformers

I was laughing throughout the whole ending. That's how bad it was.

The Heaven System
Watch it now!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Return Of The Dragon I've been meaning to see this for quite some time now, and am glad I did. The fight scenes were choreographed beautifully, and there were some scenes that were quite funny.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I was forced to endure 30 minutes of Transformers at a friend's house today before I ran away. It was the most ridiculously unsubtle overdone badly written racist-stereotyping movie I've ever seen.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Pulp Fiction. Classic, I've seen this a while back, just got in on DVD though, great Tarantino film.

2001: A Space Odyssey A very great movie. Stanley Kubrick's films are great.

"Thank you very little..."

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Gran Torino

If you can forgive spots of bad acting and some fairly obvious symbolism, it's quite a well put-together story.

Miller's Crossing
Been having a Coen Brother's marathon at the moment. First time I've seen it - not as quirky as their other films but I still enjoyed it.

That's a cool film; I enjoy Gabriel Byrne and Steve Buscemi.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I almost saw Transformers II today, than my parents found out about the sexual content; my two little brothers also wanted to go see whatever movie we saw, so that was out the window. So we ending up seeing the mini-golf course.

The last movie I saw was Monsters, Inc with commentary. I wish Pixar would do more commentaries, because I love hearing about how their films are made, the little "things" that the directors do (Brad Bird hates fist pumps; Pete Doctor makes sure that whatever a character is laughing at is funny to the audience as well), and their dedication to making good films.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

woah I haven't updated in a while.

The happening
the entire plot for this movie was stupid. but as most of you know, I'm a very creepy child. a child who loves creepy violence. so, I give it some points for that. but, all in all, the original theme is just downright strange and stupid. but in some parts it's pretty impressive.

I loved the part where the jeep goes straight into the tree, and whatever his name just get's out of the car, amoungst all the dead people from side to side, just grabs a piece of glass and starts cutting his veins.

great writing. "MY FIREARM IS MY FRIEND. MY. FIREARM. IS MY FRIEND. MY FRIEND. *shoots self*"
it's just a giant suicide cult in my opinion.

Yeah I love Steve Buscemi in anything really. Even Monsters Inc.! He was only in it for a very short time though... mini/sad

UP

One of the greatest CG animated films ever made, right up with Wall-E and Toy Story.
Everyone in the theater applauded at the end, I with them of course.

Eh. I'd have to agree. The story was supuerb, but the cinematography and acting was. . .lackluster.
