I thought Elf was a good movie up 'till the "SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS SANTA IS REAL AND ALL UR DREAMS COME TRU!!!
" part at the end. I think it's quite a funny movie.
The only thing I've actually liked Will Ferrell in is the Jeopardy skits on SNL.
I actually like Will Ferrel, which makes LOTL (Hah. Hah.) so much more painful.
My name is Anthony, and I enjoyed Taledega Nights.
*hi anthony*
I personally think Will Ferrell is a pretty funny guy.
Twilight
I mostly saw this movie so that I could properly make fun of it and not sound like a hypocrite. So I was pretty much expecting it to be bad, but I mean...wow, was it bad. There were so few redeemable qualities to this film that I honestly have no idea how it merits such a large fanbase. The acting is bland and uninspired, the characters are horridly underdeveloped, the script sucks, and worst of all, the chemistry between what's-his-face and what's-her-face is so incredibly weird and awkward, it's almost laughable. Their "love" feels completely forced; I really don't believe a girl can so easily fall in love with a guy who basically stalked her for several weeks before they had a legitimate conversation.

Zach, it's aimed towards Teenage girls. Teenage girls, for the most part, don't care about the quality of the film, all they want is some romantic stuff.
But that's the thing, even the romantic aspect of it sucked.
I think it has more to do with the fact that it's about vampirezomg.

The way I see it,
Sparkling vampires = gay
Oh yeah, because girls totally read less than boys.
Wow, I love where this conversation is headed.
I recently watched The Illusionist. There were some interesting things about it that I appreciated. Overall, definitely not a perfect film, but enjoyable. Has anyone seen The Prestige, which was released around the same time and has similar subject matter? For some reason I thought it was based on a sci-fi story, but apparently it's about magicians as well. I don't think I've seen it...

I've seen both The Illusionist and The Prestige but can't remember which one is which
. Maybe that says something about both of them.

The Illusionist involved a magician who falls in love with the prince's girlfriend, and the prince isn't too happy about that. Chaos ensues. The Prestige is a Batman reunion about two magicians each trying to be better than the other, while also trying to kill or seriously maim the other in the process. Chaos also ensues.
Remember now?
I really enjoyed both of those films, The Illusionist and The Prestige, I recommend seeing them. I saw them both in theaters that year! I want to see them again really soon.

Somehow the premise doesn't grab me...
Sounds like Nick Durron's Pierre and Luigi. Except with magicians instead of cooks.

I love the Prestige. Saw it twice in theaters and bought it the day it came out on DVD. I haven't watched it since I moved... I wonder where it is...
I haven't seen The Illusionist, but I can tell you that The Prestige is a pretty amazing film. The way the two magicians sabotage each other's tricks, not being afraid of hurting (killing!) their opposite, is very thrilling. You have to concentrate a bit, though, because the plot is very complex. But other than that, this is definitely worth a watch. I highly recommend watching it, Leo!
As for Will Ferrell: although I don't know many of his films, I'd say he's pretty unfunny. The only film he played in that was quite enjoyable, is Stranger Than Fiction; mainly because of the very interesting script, though.

I actually just watched that and wasn't so impressed; I thought the ending was quite good, but the whole premise and characters felt way forced before then.
Thanks Littlebrick. Jogged my memory
. I just always seem to call one film the other!
