...I've never gotten a PM Email alert. It's checked off in my profile settings, but I've never gotten one. Anyone else with this problem?
Yup.I wish we did,even if we got a notice on the site itself.
I just added this extension and I'm a bit confused by it myself. I have it UNCHECKED and AM receiving email notifications. Perhaps the text on it is just badly worded, I'll look at it later.

I can't find this option in my profile settings. I was very surprised to find I had a private message from over a week ago. I'd really like to get the e-mails. I've looked through my settings several times now and can't find this fabled checkbox. 
Help?
Looks like it got disabled when Legosjedi upgraded the PM extension. I've turned it back on - but I'm not sure if it's working correctly. The person who wrote the extension planned to make an updated version so we may have to wait for that. On the bright side you should be able to see that you've gotten a new PM when you're logged in now.
