Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

I thought you guys retired?

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

we thought too... but this one is really the last. It will then be hard for us to find time together, as we're growing and begin to leave home...

And, by the way, our entry is now totally finished. It is 3:58 mins long, featuring an awesome 42 seconds long sequence shot scene . We just need to compress a bit the video file...

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

Sounds great. I hope my film is too. mini/smile

You can do anything, just have fun while doing it.

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

I'm making mine about some man who wakes up in a spaceship, and there is a hole in the wall so all the air is getting out; hence the name "Airtight". Is it ok for me to make that.

Also, there is a wierd monster who is either:

ONE: The previous owner of the ship who turned himself into the monster by some medicine ( like a werewolf)
TWO: A monster that came from space, but got into the ship via the hole in the wall.

So yeah, just tell me which you think is best!

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

I'm sure that'd qualify, bluebrick.  It fits the "Space" element from the contest title.

Interesting premise!  I'm excited for the final product.

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

ok kool ill start now but the onlyy problem like you said is its on Youtube. I hope that that wont interfere with my score

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

You can host it on YouTube after the contest deadline, but you can't before then. If you do, it won't just affect your score - you'll get disqualified!

Oh good, glad you like it!

EDIT: Do you think I should make the monster shape-shift, like the ploymorth from Red Dwarf? Also, can you decide one of the two options for the monster, I'm kinda stuck.

Are we allowed to publicly release a trailer for our entry before the deadline?

Yes, although I hoped to maybe organize a small trailer challenge for entrants, where they can release their trailers for a given deadline.  Probably fairly close to the deadline for the finished films.  There probably wouldn't be prizes or anything, though, so it would just be for fun.

what if we don't make a trailer, do we get disqualified? I might make one.

There is an edit button that you can use. Please don´t double post like that. mini/wink

You don't have to make a trailer, the trailer competition (if it happens) is just extra fun. mini/tongue

I prefer the third choice, the monster created the hole and then came other monsters from there... the monster get in the ship because there was an egg hidden somewhere...or it could just be the 2nd  choice...

Yeah thats good. Or the fourth option. A space-dude-scientist makes a potion and turns himself into it, and tries to kill his best friend, who hides in this attic-like room (where the potion was made) for like, 10 years. And he tries to save the man (in my sig).

Also, should the monster shape-shift?

EDIT: I already started the fourth option before you posted, so I'm gonna adapt it so that:
The scientist tried to find out what was in the egg, and it hatched and killed him. The friend ran away, and soon hid back up there.

How does that sound?

bluebrick, I think this discussion should move to the Preproduction forum.

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

does "shape-shift" means "metamorphosis"?If yes, I think that should be great...a really clever monster...

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

Smeagol, in the events section of the site, the time was not updated.I first read that the film must be 2 mins minimum, and a bit after, on the "submisssions" part, it says between 2 and 3 mins... If ever someone reads it (I doubt many people do, but who knows ? ), he/she might not understand !

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

It is updated, but apparently in most browsers it will never change unless you delete your cache.  At least people visiting that page for the first time will see the correct information.

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

ctrl + F5 refreshes the page entirely (just to help people that have the old information)

Re: BiM 2009: STAR [CLOSED]

I cleared my cache, refreshed the page antirely, and also -believe me or not- tried with IE . And i think we are not talking about the same thing.
