Topic: Aardman and other great animation studios

Well, I felt like there should be a topic about great animation studios starting with Aardman.
So, yeah... I just checked out the Aardman website today. It made me in the mood for good-old-WallaceAndGromit, so I went to Hollywood Video and got "Wallace and Gromit the curse of the Ware rabbit". It was great!

You should watch the DVD extras of that film; they'll make you want to be a professional animator, haha.

The other two animation houses I can think of would be Pixar (obviously) and Studio Ghibli.

Re: Aardman and other great animation studios

What movies/Videos has Studio Ghibli done?

What about Tim Burton? mini/bigsmile

Another great show that Aardman does is Shaun the Sheep.

Re: Aardman and other great animation studios

I love Aardman. Wallace and Gromit made me want to become a stop motion filmier for a hobby.

PIXAR!

I just felt like I needed to, because no one had mentioned it yet. I am, personally, surprised. Though Aardman is good. Though I must admit, I haven't seen Were-Rabbit yet.

Re: Aardman and other great animation studios

Were-Rabbit is pretty impressive from a technical standpoint, but I don't think it's a great film on the front of story-telling, it feels overly long and sort of like a half-hour episode stretched to fit a feature length running time.  I think the 30 minute episodes play out a lot better.

And Littlebrick, Night Owl mentioned Pixar in the 2nd post.

The plot of the Were-Rabbit was pretty predictable.

Re: Aardman and other great animation studios

It does have some funny bits and it is really good animation too.

Wallace and Gromit have some great shows, but out of the three (not including Were-Rabbit) my personal favorites are...
...all of them!

Were-Rabbit was a great movie.

There's 4 short ones not 3.
