I was wondering; would an LSD trip (or something similar) count as a "reality", because technically, the person experiencing the LSD trip would be in his own little world, of sorts. And don't worry, no drugs would be involved.
If further elaborating would be needed, I can always send you a PM with further details, Sméagol.
Interpretation of the theme is pretty open, that sounds fine. Note, though, that a film having nothing to do with the theme except for a short dream sequence is probably not going to score well in the theme category, though. (Not to say that is what you were thinking of doing.)

Casting calls are tedious business. I hate hosting them. I hope to get some people I know to voice act for me (maybe some brickfilmers, too). Check the Ten Mistakes To Make When Holding a Casting Call for tips.
I have some doubts: u say I must submit my material, but for this I'd like to make a film based on a short novel... I think I can't make that, is it?...if I can't, the other chance is to make a film pseudo-based on a painting, but I prefer the other Idea...or another chance is to not enter this contest and make what I want...I don't know, what do u suggest?...
EDIT: I'm working on a music for one of those films, should I invent a name or just call it "music for this video composed in 3 days"?

You don't need to name the music, just mention yourself as having written the music in the film's credits.
Regarding basing your movie on a novel, you're right that that probably won't be permissible for this contest due to copyright. If the concept is only somewhat similar it should be OK as long as you don't take dialog and characters straight from the novel, but an original idea is always preferable. Some older works (and laws on this vary from country to country) are in the public domain, meaning they would be acceptable.

If your story is similar to the story in the novel, this is OK as long as you don't violate copyright on the novel - that would include copying very specific details such as events, characters, or lines of dialog.
Regarding public domain, you don't need to worry about that unless the novel is very old with an author who is long dead. Unless that is the case, the novel is still protected by copyright.
What about getting the author's agreement that you can use the story and tell it in a brickfilm? If you contact him, and he says he's alright with that, that wouldn't be a problem, would it? (Well, unless the author is already dead- contacting him would be quite difficult, then).

What you could do is take the concept of the book but use it to create a film that is your own, with a different title and all.
anyway is not a book, but a story of 5 pages circa... I could do that, Night Owl, but it's hard, because there aren't dialogues, except at the beginning...and its a really simple story, so it's hard to change something that hasn't anything to change...I don't know if you get it...

Yep, if you have permission it's allowed. But I'm not up on my legalese, in some cases it might be the publisher rather than the author who gives the permissions.
And yes, taking the concept from somebody else's work but making your own story around it is allowed, if you feel you can do this without copying it verbatim.

Try to change things, even if it's very small and add your own things. Make up a dialogue, think of a different beginning and/or end.

That's usually the case. If the publisher is acting with the owner's (the writer) authority, you have to ask the publisher for permission.
With music it's even more complicated, the song writer, the singer (and I think the band) and the publisher would have to give you permission (usually).
Stupid copyright rules.
