Is Batman: The Movie a B-Movie? It certainty has a bizarre plot, and looks pretty cheaply made. ![]()
Wait, by "B Movie", are you talking about Indie movies?
No, B movies are movies produced using a low budget.
Like, Godzilla, the original King Kong and Braindead.

I am insulted. ![]()
B Movie is talking about awesome. the REAL entertainment. It's like if Hollywood smuck is Shakespeare, B movie is comic book.
I'd take a cheap comic book over Hamlet any day.

I personally like the old War of The Worlds . . . You?
Well, the origin of the term B-movie (to my knowledge) goes back to the days of double features in theaters, typically there would be a major motion (the A-movie) picture played together with a cheaper, low budget movie. For example, the very low budget Silent Running was paired with The Andromeda Strain in many theaters.
Correct, Smeagol (just to back you up on it), that is the origin of the term, even though now they are considered just low budget movies, because they are realeased by themselves now.
What a about C movies? C=Delgo (Or whatever the $#*@ it was called. You know, the one that failed horribly in theatres?)

The Giant Claw
A TERRIBLE movie. Easily the best-because-it's-the-worst monster movie I've ever seen. Make sure you watch it with a bunch of friends, and just rip on it the whole night. An absolutely awful movie with a terrible "plot" that barely holds together the botched acting and the atrocious special effects.

Humanoids from the Deep
I watched it on New Years Day, not a good movie to kick off the new year with.
Frikkin terrible movie. The only cool thing in it were the naked babes.
B-movies are awesome because you get to revel in a movie that is incredibly awful, but without feeling disgusted about millions of dollars being wasted on it.
Van Helsing ($160,000,000) - ![]()
Manos: The Hands of Fate ($11,000) - ![]()

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED watching it with friends and pulling a Mystery Science Theater 3,000 on it. But wait, you actually...
*shudder*
...liked it? Like... as a film?

Dude, don't diss Hamlet; Hamlet's awesome. Besides being a masterful tale of vengeance, it's filled with punny innuendo.

sounds like a blast

Wow, The Evil Dead and Bad Taste are two of my favorite films nowadays. I was a dumbass two years ago.
Anyway, felt like bumpin' the thread. And apologies to Night Owl, I didn't know what I was saying. Forgive me.
Oh, and if you like B-movies, check out "Queen of Outer Space". Funny !@#$.
I know it's obvious, but Plan 9 from outer space remains one of my favourite B-films. Also: Killer Klowns from outer Space, Death Race 2000, Evil Dead trilogy (of course), the Gamera films, Killer Shrews, and I really want to see The Green Slime.
I've got to say, this thread is epic. Thank you for making it.
My favorite B-Movies are Plan 9 from Outer Space and The Day the Earth Stood Still (does that count?)
Also Gamera is the best monster movie ever made I totally agree with Pillow.
I saw the Mole Men and boy it was funny (especially with Mystery Science Theater)
