So I just got 50 new, blank cds, they are cd+r but know I want to know, how do I burn a brickfilm to the disc for viewing on a tv? Do I need special software, or can I do it with file manager? Thanks!
Do you know how to burn a film to a disc so I could try?
I hope I didn't just waste 15 bucks. 
So the cds don't work so I'm gonna have to return them and get some dvds.
There is such a thing as a Video CD - and they use standard CD-R discs. But the quality isn't very good. DVDs are definitely a better bet; either way you'll need to do a bit of research online to figure out a good way to author them properly.
What is the intention with using disc format? 21st century media distribution is through online streaming because it reaches a global audience, versus the more antiquated 20th century physical medium of disc, VHS and film reels. You're better off playing the video on a laptop plugged into a TV or projector.
But to answer your question: you need a disc drive. If you're returning the CD+R for DVD, make sure it's DVD+RW so you can reuse them. Make sure your computer has a DVD+RW drive.
Man, it's 20-year-old knowledge being brought back up. Who needs help with 3.5 floppy disc?
SO I got some DVD-R's now is this the right type of disc?

I want to be able to play my brickfilms and other films I make and edit easier to play on a tv. Instead of plugging in a laptop and just screen mirroring it, I would like to be able to just insert a DVD.
Is they any way I can burn a film to a disc easily? (preferably without needing to install extra software)

Read through my reply one more time: you need a DVD+RW drive that can write or burn data (or in this case, a DVD-formatted movie) onto DVD disc. You will need software to do it.
There's nothing wrong with screen mirroring and most smart TVs have USB port for you to access video files from.
