I'm thinking of buying one of those Lego power functions lights via bricklink, has anyone on here used one? If so whats your thoughts on them?

I personally have never used them but they look really cool. I think you should go for it.
I'm only ever used BrickStuff lights, but those can be expensive, so I'd be interested to see what you can do with Power Functions. I actually didn't know they existed.
If you do get them, please share some pictures of what they're like, they sound cool.

Im looking at buying them from the Lego store - https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/lego light-8870 but I dont know what else I need to buy with these to make them function.

You will need either the 'power functions battery box' or the 'power functions AAA battery box', and you will probably want the '20" power functions extension wire' as well so you can put your batteries further away.
