Everything in the youtube audio library, incompetech.com, & original music by composers on BiM would all be perfectly fine, yes.
By copyrighted, I mainly wanted people to shy away from using something like the Star Wars theme, or music that could get the video muted, and thus, disqualified.

I'm am terribly sorry, but a typo in the submission instructions was recently brought to my attention. Originally, the section read:
To submit, please send an email ...bla bla bla... with this subject:
SHAQ, [Your BiM username]’s “[Title of film]”For Example: SHAQ, Dyland’s “De Mortem Part Deux”
While it should have stated:
SHAC, [Your BiM or BaB username]'s "[Title of film]"
For Example: SHAC, Dyland's "De Mortem Part Deux"
I have since amended the post.
Due to this blunder, I will accept entry emails with either SHAQ or SHAC in the title, however, in the future, please use SHAC only. Thank you.
And we're 1/3rd of the way in! But don't worry, you've still got 48 hours to create an awesome entry! Keep on SHACing, and watch for those free throws.

You say "shy away from using any copyrighted music". Does that mean strictly no copyrighted music whatsoever, or a suggestion? I have copyrighted music that fits my film perfectly, and have already edited scenes to the track. I have been unsuccessful in find a non-copyrighted alternative.
Seeing as how THAC and BRAWL both allow copyrighted music, and it's not in the main bulletpoints of rules, I assume it's just a suggestion?

You can certainly use copyrighted music in your entry, however, because this contest requires the sound mod to be included for acceptability, if youtube muted the audio or pulled the video, it would have to be disqualified.
Also, it's not a good practice to upload soundtracks and/or copyrighted music online.
If you need an alternative, why not ask one of the composers here on BiM?

Alright, thanks for clearing that up.
Does transparent black count as black for the color mod?
Trans black can count for the mod element, but trans clear (even the moreso milky kind) doesn't count.
That's a bit of a stretch, brickman. Don't forget you could always use the letter mod in that shot as an alternate.

Oh, I've only gone and forgotten the colour mod for one of my shots! It contains a transparent and black piece touching but I doubt that counts.
Edit: Disaster averted, I managed to sneak it into the last 5 frames, hope that's enough.

Oh man, I had the same problem. I finished all my scenes and realized I didn't have the color mod in one of the scenes.

I can't believe it!!!!!!! I made sure the mod eliment was in there! if I really am missing the mod eliment may I know where it is missing in the film so I can fix it before the deadline, please? or am I disqualified?!
