Re: Anime. That's It.

I've watched very little Anime, but One Punch Man is incredible. The humor is wonderfully dry with really good timing, and the animation, especially in the fight sequences, is creative and really bold.

Star Blazers.

Cowboy Bebop is my all time favourite.

K-On!

I'm not joking. Pretty much anything by Kyoani is enjoyable and well done but I have a soft spot for K-On.

I probably watched more anime in college than I should admit to so choosing favorites is kind of hard. I liked Stein's;Gate the first time I watched it though it does drag in places. I think Psycho-Pass has a great first season (note: serious content advisory for the younger folk) but the second season and the movie were awful and mediocre respectively. Angel Beats has some beautiful music with a fun/affecting premise and I'd recommend it despite pacing issues. Just uh... don't expect the writer's follow-up show Charlotte to fix any of the rough edges. In fact, don't expect anything out of Charlotte.

...in fact, don't watch Charlotte. It blows.

Another decent show with excellent music is Kids on the Slope, although that may be cheating since the score is mostly classic jazz recordings.

Azumanga Daioh.

That's uhh... the only anime I've seen. And I'm in luv.

Re: Anime. That's It.

If you like AD, Nichijou is a more recent show with a similar (though tending further toward surrealism) style.

Re: Anime. That's It.

Azumanga Daioh is great. Some will probably find it slow or boring, and a good deal of the humor will likely go over the heads of most Western Viewers since much of it revolves around Japanese culture. However, I personally found the various characters incredibly endearing. Their various personalities are thouroughly fleshed out and work together extremely well.

Also, I second Squash's recommendation of  Nichijou. It takes the slice of life genre of "cute girls doing cute things" and turns it on it's head with crazy Naruto style action sequences.

Funmi's recommendation of Cowboy Bebop is also good for slightly more mature viewers. By far my favorite anime.

Erased is a great mystery/thriller (sans the rather disappointing conclusion) that has managed to stick with me pretty well.

Re: Anime. That's It.

Honestly, I pretty much solely watch anime. And since I have watched quite a bit, it makes it really hard for me to choose a favorite. But in no specific order: Your Lie in April, FMA Brotherhood, and the first 316 episodes of Gintama are all top shows for me.

Re: Anime. That's It.

Well I did enjoyed several series, but I do like Angel Beats, for its action, humor and tearjerking scenes Samurai Champloo, for the well animated action scenes and soundtrack, Girls Last Tour for their unique concept and many more. Some anime series actually inspire me to make brickfilms.

My favourite movie is Spirited Away.
