Topic: Wayward Tides Production Log

Production for my Spirit of Adventure entry has just begun. Wayward Tides is going to be a dialogue free story. My aim is to focus more on visual storytelling, which includes working on my set design and cinematography skills. I hope to get a musical piece to go with the film, to help fully complete the emotional and dramatic story I hope it will be.

I won't say anymore, as I usually like to keep details about my films under wraps, but a poster for the film will soon be released, in a week or so.

Here's a frame from the scene I shot today!

Nice frame! Looking forward to it!

Re: Wayward Tides Production Log

it IS a nice frame, and the colors look more vibrant than before.  Keep up the good work!

Re: Wayward Tides Production Log

Thanks, guys. I'm glad you've shown an interest. I am really excited about this project. It isn't like anything I've done before, and I'm pleased with what I've done so far.

Day 2
Finished the first scene. Here's another frame.

(By the way, I'm not going to update this quite as frequently as this, usually. I want to keep details about the plot under wraps, as I stated yesterday, but decided to share some more info, as this particular scene tells you very little about the plot.)

Re: Wayward Tides Production Log

I have finished yet another scene of Wayward Tides. Here are a couple of frames...

Everything you see in these frames is in camera. I used orange card paper for the evening sky, and cut out a circle from a yellow piece of card paper to make the sun.

Re: Wayward Tides Production Log

I guess you've finished all of that part because I would have suggested cutting out a whole in the orange card and shining a light through it so that it looks like as if the sun is giving off light, but it still looks pretty good anyway mini/smile

Looking good! I think you should maybe add some glow to the sun in post-production though. Great cinematography!

Re: Wayward Tides Production Log

Had a fairly rough week, with technical issues, but hopefully all of that is resolved now, as it seems I'm back on track. Despite some technical difficulties, it has not delayed production on my film, as I have shot over 30 seconds this past week, 25 of those just today, and I only have one more scene left to shoot. Here are a couple of frames of what I've done so far!

I have to say, I really like that second frame.  Although it's a bit dim, the soft focus and way the background colours match the man's clothing is quite pleasing to the eye.

Yesterday was my last day of animating. Today I've been tweaking a couple of minor edits, and now all I need to complete my film is the score, and then I'm ready for submission. In my spare time, after editing, I made this poster:
