Topic: 4.5 GB archive of old brickfilms to share

Hi Bricks In Motion community,

My name's Andreas, my username on the Brickfilms.com forums in the early 2000s was "IceMan." I have ~4.5 GB of old brickfilms that I want to share with the Brickfilming community. I found an old directory on one of my hard drives the other day full of these classic brickfilms I had downloaded over time in the early 2000s from the old Brickfilms.com site, and I want to make sure they aren't lost if my hard drive goes bust. Since I've been out of the brickfilming scene for 10+ years I'm not sure if all these are already on a YouTube channel or publicly archived somewhere. Nonetheless I've uploaded them for anyone to download and share.

File list: Ghostbin
Download: MEGA

Oh my god. Thank you SO freaking much. Just over the last couple of weeks, I have been trying to collect the films from the old Brickfilms.com directory. Here is my work-in-progress list. I'm already seeing things I don't have, including things that weren't in the directory that I have also been looking for such as Sniper Man 3. You really picked a great time to share this; thanks again!

@sillypenta Wow, glad to help! Love the wiki! mini/bigsmile

Re: 4.5 GB archive of old brickfilms to share

We also used to download brickfilms in the old brickfilms.com directory, and we still have everything we downloaded.
By taking a quick look at the missing files on wiki, we immediately noticed that we had at least two of the missing brickfilms: "372-Le petit chaperon bleu" and "1652-Le ciel est bleu" (especially because there very few brickfilms in French than).
We can send you those two brickfilms if you wish, sillypenta, and we can also check out if we have other missing files. mini/smile

Wonderful news; thank you! I am particularly glad to hear that you have those because I would assume non-English brickfilms were downloaded less, making them harder to find now. I would also be interested in finding out what else you might have, as there are also films that were never in the directory that I am looking for. My email is sillypenta [at] gmail.com.

Yes, you're probably right.
"Le ciel est bleu" was one of our favorite brickfilms, we remember it was made by a professionnal filmmaker who made this brickfilm for his daughters. We'll send you this!

This is super awesome stuff, icebox! I'll have to download this when I get back from spring break.

And France & Alex, I'd be super interested in seeing Le ciel est bleu, sounds like a very interesting artifact. Maybe you could upload it to Google Drive or something so the public could see it as well?

As we don't know how Google Drive works, we uploaded it on our Youtube chanel (unlisted). The brickfilm is 2min50 long, and even if the title is in French, it's a kind of music video, so no need to understand French to watch it!

Holy cow!!! Jonathan Marckiewitz's Batman: Revenge is on there!

So glad I downloaded mini/smile I love watching brickfilms, especially those early-mid brickfilms.com era ones. So little had yet been made by way of improving the craft, and every filmmaker had to find their own unique way to overcome animation hurdles - often coming to the same conclusion even through different routes. The lack of other films to compare to really meant that no rules, guidelines, or animation cycles had yet become commonplace either.

There's really a lot brickfilmers of today can learn from these earlier examples. Glad you've made this available, icebox_creations!

I was also very happy to get this one, as I had just recently been hunting high and low for it. Now I just need to track down the much shorter special edition from 2006.
