Most people not living in the US would probably beg to differ.

Typical communist nonsense. Downright un-American!

Re: Café Corner

You're from the land who celebrates Thanksgiving, and my land is the reason you're celebrating it!

Re: Café Corner

Not really true. They were celebrating not being totally decimated. Also if they were thankful for something in relation to your country, it's that they were able escape with their lives.

Re: Café Corner

Hmm politics.... Any ways me and a friend are making a entry to the batman redbrick contest, and in our script/story board we have a villain robing a bank, so I was wondering if you guys knew what batman villain would be best to have robing a bank.

Thanks

Re: Café Corner

Make it ironic. Who's the least likely person to rob a bank? The bank owner, perhaps? Or maybe a super rich guy? Bruce Wayne, even? How about someone who works at the money press? Just throwing out some ideas.

Re: Café Corner

My first thought would be the Joker, but I guess we've already seen that scenario?

Gohgzvoqsterwazootuli the Famous Bank Robber perhaps?

Catwoman would be a good choice.  She is a cat burglar after all.

Re: Café Corner

Never mind "lets Not rob a Bank"..... Just kidding. I think I am going to end up going with the joker just because of the story and time limits (30 seconds is really short to tell any thing but a really really simple story). Thanks for all the suggestions!

Re: Café Corner

Just a quick question Im looking at brickstuff lights and they look pretty cool but I'm wondering how bright are they? Are they brighter than Lifelights? Or if I light a set with them and use my kit lens am I going to haft to use like a 4 second exposer?

Thanks a bunch

Re: Café Corner

Personally, I've only had direct experience with Brickstuff. However, I have had pretty in-depth discussions with brickfilmers who have used both. Brightness wise I'd expect them to be similar.

Basically, Brickstuff lights are smaller and thus more versatile, while lifelights are cheaper. Neither would really would work to exclusively light your set if that's what you are asking. They're basically for in-set lighting (buttons, lamps, car headlights, etc) to accent your primary lighting setup (desk lamps, studio lights, whatever).

Hope that helps.

Well, this is going to depend on what kind of lighting you're going for. This set in Draw was almost exclusively lit by Lifelites (I had a tablet underneath the set, but the tablet provided less light than a single lifelite - it was more so it would look cool from above mini/tongue ).

To answer your question, osom, yes, you'll probably have to use a longer exposure if you've got a darker set (Lifelites and Brickstuff are small LEDs, so they aren't going to be casting as much light as a few large lamps). But, like Brickcrazy mentioned, they're also good for buttons, headlights, and other in-set lights that accompany your normal lamps, and you probably won't need to mess much with the exposure for that.

Re: Café Corner

I've done several scenes using just Lifelites, and that was even with a webcam. Obviously it depends on how big the set is, and how many lights you have, but it shouldn't be that much of a problem. That being said, the sets were supposed to be dark and shadowy, and such a set up won't work that well for a bright mid day outdoorsy shot.

In short, it's kinda hard to do well, but it's not impossible by any means. It just depends on how you want it to look.

Re: Café Corner

Hey thanks a bunch guys. This is really helpful, just to clarify what I am trying to figure out, If I turn them on in a street light or desk lamp can I have them looking over exposed, like they are really lighting something? Cause in this video  I used lifelights and the lamps don't really look bright. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO4h2YNP_KE
