Thanks for taking a look at this!

My next project is a big one.
It spawned as an entry from Sight&Sound, unfortunately I had scheduling issues with my voice actors, and the scope of the entire project was too vast to finish within the time limit.

I really enjoyed writing the script and I'm committed to following this to it's end.

Resonant Frequency -
The Idea: Researching Sound in preparation for S&S, I studied frequency and resonant frequency. Resonant frequency is the frequency at which something vibrates and the resonance builds to a shatterpoint. Example: A wine glass shattering I'm over-simplifying the physics, but in essence that is how it works. Acoustic resonance isn't the only kind of resonance either.

I'll keep this updated as things progress. First I'll post the script, and then possibly a scene or two that I have storyboarded so far. I'm not certain yet if I will have an open casting call as I prefer to direct my voice actors face-to-face, with only a few exceptions.

Status Update!

I am storyboarding the second-to-last scene. I estimate I've got about 50 more storyboards to draw and then I will move on to the next step... Animatic constructing and audio recording. I've already got one character voiced, by Squash!

Resonant Frequency Cast



It looks like the cast is ready to go!
Kiley is the female cast member holding the ray-gun and Zeke is the large robot (he's got an updated color set!)

Then there is Royce in red and grey, and tyler next to him all in black with the orange hair.
Drone Bot Unit 15 is the red robot hovering in the back. Jarren is running in a panic on the left, and Mark is wearing black lying face down on the ground. As for all the others... nameless crew of Royce's ship (aka creature fodder).

Let me know what you think of this picture!

Status:
Two lead characters have had their voice actors recorded, and there are just one or two small characters left to record. Storyboards... not much further along than the last update, still working on them!

Status Update!

Contacted a pair of musical composers who do original scores for shortfilms (among other things).
I found their work on audiocrate.com and emailed them directly.
Looks like I'm gonna be $800 lighter on funds once things get rolling, but I'm super excited about having high quality musical composition for this project.

In other news... all my storyboard sketches are complete! My friend and partner in creativity, Justin, is helping me add color and finish the storyboards. I'll start putting together animatics for each scene soon, along with the previously recorded voice acting sessions. It's gonna be SWEET!

I must have missed this thread in the past, I had no idea you were working on something of this magnitude. Are you planning on doing the ship landing sequence in mixed scale? I'm looking forward to following this project.

Yes, the ship will be in multiple scales (at least three). Still working on it!!! Big project, and it's taking a lot longer than I originally expected, but I am planning on having it ready a year from now.
