Re: The Animation Challenge
Great job, Shawarma!
The transformation, as well as the rest of the animation, was very smooth.

It was smooth, but really fast and difficult to see. I'd add more momentum to the movements and try to time the choreography so that it fits well together.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll be sure to rectify those mistakes in the future. I admit I rushed a bit on this particular animation.
My upcoming project features a scene where an agent transforms his appearance to go to work, so I thought I would enter it for this challenge to get some critique feedback ..........

I love how the centripetal force pulled his hair out to a nice forward facing spike.
Were I to offer some critique, you may want the transformation to take a bit longer by having it 'crawl' up him by changing his legs to the suit, then his torso, then arms. It is really sudden and instantaneous, which isn't as dramatic as a more gradual change would be. The camera angle is just kinda...there. I think something closer, and off-axis, would help.
I'm about done with my entry, so thanks for the inspiration guys! It's great to see that there's a bit more interest in this thread again. Hope some others pull together entries before this challenge is all said and done.
EDIT:
Here's mine!
Hope ya'll like it!
And yeah, I know some of it goes by pretty quick, but I think it came out well.
Thanks Pritchard, your feedback is much appreciated, I will use that slower crawling transformation you suggested for another part of my project - I like your Banner/Hulk animation- subtle changes like his hand changing green to start with work really well.
And the winner is..... Pritchard Studios!!!!
Your animations really took the cake, especially the Hulk one; like Legodave said, the subtle changes (as well as the not so subtle ones) added a lot.
Shawarma Studios, your entry was good, and I liked the slime shooting animation, but the transformation back was a little awkward, with the disappearance of the symbiote's hair.
Legodave1, your entry was quite creative. I liked the idea of the transformation happening inside the spinning tube. However, like Pritchard already said, there wasn't much transition, so it wasn't as dramatic as it could have been.
Thanks to all that entered!
Take it away, Pritchard!
Sweet! Thanks guys, and especially to Undershadow for providing feedback to everyone.
So, the next challenge is...
Playing a Board Game
Ever wonder how Lego minifigures play checkers, or chess? Ever think about what they would look look like playing spoons? Well, now is your chance to find out for yourself!
Deadline: Saturday, June 4th
Yeah, it's a broader category, but I think it could lend itself to some really cool shots. And sometimes, it is these tiny, precise movements that present the best challenge, and the greatest reward when finished.
I am leaving tomorrow morning so I have one day to make a entry
Congratulations Pritchard! You certainly deserve the win!
Does the board game have to be an real board game, or can I make up my own?
Sweet! Thanks guys, and especially to Undershadow for providing feedback to everyone.

Um, am I allowed to submit an entry that I have submitted previously? Probably not right?
@Shawarma Studios, good question. You can make up a game, use a real one, or have them randomly do board game like activities. I'm not picky at all.
@Raptor,
Nope. The Rules* state that previously released footage is disqualified. But if you have unreleased footage lying around somewhere secret, feel free to bring it to light.
*Well, this is a compilation of the previously unwritten guidelines that was finally drafted up three years ago. It isn't quite 'official,' but it's the closest thing to official that I know of.
Hmm, really interesting challenge. Upon reflection this could actually be pretty difficult. I might give it a go thanks to my new found free time.
Can I use brick built hands?... Please I already made everything.
Feeeeeeeeeeeeeew I'm animating right now.
edit
done animating.
Okay here's my entry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23Axg3z e=youtu.be

I could actually enter this contest because that's precisely what animation I just completed. I'd have to recuse myself actually because it's part of a larger work and I did almost all of the animation before the announcement (finished today, hours befor eI discovered this.) That wouldn't be fair.
Here's a picture of some girls playing a board game.
The cones are the game pieces and the Lego Modulex brick with the 4 is the die.
Hedwig moves a piece:
If you can guess the game, you win a real prize.

Nice use of large scale, Snorlax!
@HoldingOurOwn - Is the game halma?
No. There aren't nearly enough playing pieces on the board for that.
