Topic: Need inspiration for your (quite big) LEGO builds? I've got something

Right off the bat: Shameless self promotion I know. But at least it's promotion for something that won't earn me any money or fame.

I've made a blog that posts a pictures of a picture of a beautiful symmetric palace every day: http://dailypalace.tumblr.com/

I have no intention nor ability to earn any money off this blog, it's just to share nice pictures of palaces. Sorry if I'm not allowed to post it here, but I just thought some of you might be interested in some inspiration if you're planning to build some LEGO palaces. Not really sure whether I should post it here or in Bricks. If anybody's got any questions, feel free to ask them here or on the blog itself mini/smile

Does anybody else know any similar architecture-related blogs?

I wish I had enough bricks to build something like those. I could probably make something in micro scale.

Okay, now I'm going to be shameless!

A few days ago I began a site with all kinds of retro sci-fi imagery.  If you like spaceships and robots and such it's also a place for inspiration!

These are neat, GGSS. So many amazing buildings! I'd love to shoot a movie at a place like that.

Thinking something similar, I decided to see what the rules are on shooting video at the various royal palaces in Denmark. They've actually got some surprisingly clear and easy guidelines for shooting at them.

No permission is needed if you're no more than 7 people, you don't block off any areas, and the camera is either handheld or on a tripod (IE, no cranes, screens, generators or dollies etc.). If you need more equipment, it's 4500DKK (700USD) per full day of shooting, which is slightly more expensive, but compared to L.A. it's really not that bad.

Here's all the info, but it's in danish http://kongeligeslotte.dk/da/lej-et-slo … -film.html.

Who knows, some of them might be even more open if you ask them, and if they don't, there's around 200 others. There should at least be one available for the next - and this time hopefully good - The Great Gatsby film. Most of them even have some pretty swanky baroque gardens included! Now, the issue of having to travel all around the world on the other hand... Luckily I live around 2 miles away from at least one big danish palace mini/smile

Some nice pictures, there. I had forgotten about my Tumblr account until now, but I just followed you.

Thanks, that puts me up to 24 subscribers mini/bigsmile Tell your friends, at least if they're interested in architecture, otherwise they'll probably just be annoyed.
