Re: Café Corner

On an unrelated side note, welcome to page 666 of the cafe corner.

EDIT: My comment seems to have concluded our stay there.

Re: Café Corner

I feel like the community, at least the part that posts regularly, has grown a bit more mature recently, and I doubt many (or any) members would be so childish as to hate on a film just because it's made with Mega Bloks.

Re: Café Corner

Another thing I would like to ask:
Seeing as it is still a brick-based toy, so it counts as a brickfilm, would it be okay to submit a Mega Bloks film to the releases forum? I'm sure I've seen other people do that.

Re: Café Corner

Yes

I do not brickfilm anymore, but you can see my live action stuff here.

Re: Café Corner

Yes, see this post, it's related to the topic at hand:

The chat doesn't seem to be working. Is anyone else having the same issue? I was able to connect, but had to google Tawx.net to do so. If you are having the same issues, click the link to connect;

Edit: Don't need to worry, guys. I think it's just my internet connection.

Re: Café Corner

Has there been a film that has used a rapid-fire shot cutting (10+ split-second shots in rapid succession) that actually works? I was watching the Honest Trailer for the 1990 Captain America and they pointed out a such segment in this film (~20 shots), but that did not work.

I do think there have been successful uses of this technique somewhere, but off the top of my head I can't think of any specific examples.  The closest thing that came to mind was this, although I'm not sure that this is exactly what you had in mind.

Also, I've now officially finished my first year of university.  It was definitely a wild and crazy ride, at times downright stressful and nerve-wracking.  I spent several sleepless nights studying, struggled with assignments, and broke a leg (literally).  Still, I'm a stronger person for having experienced it.  So yeah, I'm back.  Until next year, that is...

Oh yeah and seeing as I now have some actual spare time and access to my equipment you can probably expect to see a Brickfilm or two from me coming to a frame of reference near you soon....ish.

Edgar Wright uses quick cuts in his movies pretty well, both in earnest and to parody fast-cutting action movies.
Here is an example from Hot Fuzz.

Ah, yes, this is exactly the kind of thing I was wondering about. Thanks!
