Yeah, that's what I meant. Well, at least I watched it when I did.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Well, at least I watched it when I did.
In a few years there will be 3 kinds of movies coming out. Star wars, Mcu and DC cinematic universe films.
Good thing I've got my favorite shows and movies on DVD then. ![]()
Well, that and all the brickfilms that are sure to come out in the next few years.

Rogue One looks good I think.
Yeah, I like the look of that. I think I might watch it in the cinema.
I don't know. I think Star wars should be about the Skywalkers. I hope Rey is some how related. That's the problem with The Force Awakens, it's goodness is very dependent upon the goodness of episode 8.
Rogue One occurs before Episode 4, so Rey doesn't exist yet.
I know that.
I appreciate TFA for what it is, it matters not how it lines up "with the Skywalkers". Sure, the original movies were all about them, and so were the prequels, but those were just one story. And yes, I do like that story, and I like how it's always been a sort of "family issues" movie series, but Star Wars is far more than just them. Just look at all the other Star Wars stuff that's out there (as in, non-theatrical). It doesn't all revolve around the Skywalkers. However, it does revolve around the stories made into movies, such as how Rebels fits nicely between Ep 3 and 4. It revolves around the overarching plot, but doesn't directly feature a Skywalker family feud.
As for Rogue One, I'm looking forward to it. It'll be neat to see other things in the SW Universe that are only simply mentioned in passing, it adds depth to the universe and actually (well, hopefully) adds depth to the original 3 films.
The story was supposed to be about Anakin bringing balance to the force, which he did in Return of the Jedi. I don't wanna start a big arguement and I love TFA, but I kind of wish they left it alone (but I do love it and am excited about ep. 8 )
The story was supposed to be about Anakin bringing balance to the force, which he did in Return of the Jedi.
Aaaccctualy, that's what Lucas was trying to attempt with episodes 1-3, the original story, 4-6, was about Luke becoming a Jedi and facing his father. Lucas's attempt to change the story with 1-3 only damaged 4-6 a bit, because the huge shocking spoiler (that Vader is Luke's father) was completely spoiled, and the overall hero was changed from Luke and the rebels to Anakin himself.
But that's just my take on it.
There is lots of evidence that Rey is a Skywalker, but nothing conclusive yet. Also, some things may indicate that it's NOT the case. Why would Luke leave her with a scoundrel like Unkar Plunk, f'instance?
I'm pretty sure Rey isn't a Skywalker. She's very likely not Luke's daughter (he's a hermit, a jedi [no relationships], plus Mark Hammill said it's up to interpretation whether or not he's gay).
And I really hope she's not Leia's daughter, because then they've ruined both Han and Leia.
episodes 1-9...this was George Lucas' vision...
Lucas himself said that he didn't want any more Star Wars movies to be made, ever. That is, before he sold the company. 7-9 are not Lucas' vision, and would never have been.
But I'm interested to see how the Skywalkers will play into Ep 8. Obviously, we have Kylo, but I'm really curious about Rey.
Personally, I would rather Rey not be a Skywalker. I feel as though we have seen enough about their family and it would be nice to be introduced to a whole knew one. The Skywalker storyline has gone on long enough and connecting her to the family tree wouldn't really be injecting the saga with new blood.
It was supposed to be about Anakin. The whole thing was, originally.
When Star Wars first aired in 1977, thre was no EPISODE IV in the opening crawl. When it became a surprise hit, he added it, the first change in Lucas' endless series of changes to the movies, until it finally came to an end when Disney bought it.
so all the other episodes were just his own speculation until he knew the studio would support a sequel.
Edit: I just looked into it and I think I might be wrong. My bad.
Interesting fact: When Episode IV - A New Hope was simply just known as 'Star Wars', the opening title said 'Chapter IV' rather than 'Episode IV'. This was because the opening scene was the fourth chapter of the book that it was based on. I should imagine that the events we will see in Rouge One will probably be the events between chapters 1-4.
