Re: Café Corner

This is their website:
http://www.ilovedirtcheap.com

The store basically gets damaged or unsold goods from chain stores like Walmart. With the Lego stuff; most of the time the only thing wrong with the product is that the box is in ruff shape but that really doesn't matter because the bricks on the inside are generally in mint condition.

Re: Café Corner

Ok, so its the same idea as Ocean State Job lot in my area, years ago they had a whole bunch of copies of the 'Builder Extreme" board game for between $10 and $20 (not exactly sure), I only ended up with one though.  At the time it was cool because it had all kinds of fancy pieces and most of what I had up to that point was just basic bricks and tecnic pieces.

Any similar stores like that? But has international stores instead of USA only.

my dad doesn't want me to brickfilm on because it's his computer, but he's not home right now at the moment.

Haha, good for you. I haven't been sleeping to well, I've made a terrible habit of staying up till 12-1ish. That's very late. I hope to start sleeping longer periods.. mini/smile

This past week, I've gotten an average of probably around four hours of sleep a night.

Just putting it out there.

Not sure. I'm sure if you did a search for "outlet store" for your area you'd probably come up with something.

Re: Café Corner

Question for the long time brick-filmers,
Harborlight recently pointed out monitogostudios "Bound" on another thread, I watched it  and was quit impressed, I've been aware of "Jericho, The Promise fulfilled" even though I haven't got around to watching it yet, and I've seen Titan Pictures "Lego Minecraft Movie"
Are their any other brickfilms out there on that sort of scale?

Re: Café Corner

I guess The LEGO Movie has a grand scale. And by scale, do you mean -the complexity of the animation, the time length, or the large sets?

Re: Café Corner

by scale I meant both length and sets/animation, anyone can make a one hour brickfilm by animating at 1 fps mini/lol
I guess I was thinking about films with a more complete story arc as opposed to 1 act shorts, (some of which are quit impressive in both set and story)

Re: Café Corner

Has anything of importance happened on BiM lately? I haven't been on in a while.

I do not brickfilm anymore, but you can see my live action stuff here.

Re: Café Corner

I would suggest America Outlawed, Unrenewable, PIRATES!, and The Great Disturbance.

All four are large scale in terms of story, The Great Disturbance was the longest brickfilm for awhile.  America Outlawed, PIRATES!, and Unrenewable all  do a good job of giving you a cinematic experience with.

The Great Disturbance is one I haven't seen in a while, but I don't remember it being as cinematic.  It was still very enjoyable though.  Unfortunately, it has been muted on YouTube, so you would have to find it somewhere else, maybe the brickfilms wiki.

Hopefully these few give you a good place to start.

Happy 18th!

Re: Café Corner

Well I checked out your recommendations, except for 'The Great Disturbance' which I couldn't find anywhere with audio mini/sad
I thought that the player piano in 'America Outlawed' was pretty cool, and I liked 'Pirates' quite a bit.

I personally prefer narrative films over slapstick or fight based ones so it's neat to see that there are some longer productions out there.
For example, live action films run the gamut from a couple kids with a camcorder to things like Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
and while often smaller productions put together by a group of dedicated people are more meaningful than the latest blockbuster, I was just curious what different portions of the spectrum were represented in the brick film arena.

With that in mind, does anyone know what the most expensive brick-film ever made was? (excluding The LEGO movie and any of LEGO's other CGI TV or DVD films of course)

thanks a lot for your suggestions,
-Mark

@HelliumBrick don't do anything hasty. We need as many decent Brickfilmers as possible and I admire your work.
