FrameByFrame does not work with DSLRs. Only webcams.
Also Image Capture for Mac is built in. It's mainly used for importing photos from your camera, but it has a tethering feature.
Is there a free alternative for programs like dragonframe?

...unless you take all your frames on your DSLR and then use the Import Images function, which is what I've been doing for the last 3-5 years. It works pretty well.

Indeed Jampot, its what I used to do with windows movie maker back int he day and man was it a long process but it was also fun.

Does anyone know if there's a software that will allow you to take pictures on your smartphone from your computer? My mom came in my space and asked me about it, and didn't understand why it would work for DSLRs but not my Note 4.
Yes, there is. It only works on Androids, though.
