Topic: Found a Nikon Camera, but Wondering if Remote Would work.

So I found a Nikon Coolpix S2800 20MP camera I want to use till I can afford a more expensive camera.  The problem is that I want a wireless remote to take the pictures so my camera doesn't move or my lighting doesn't move.  I don't think the camera will work with this remote.  So should I maybe use a web camera instead or will this model work with remotes?

Re: Found a Nikon Camera, but Wondering if Remote Would work.

'Point and Shoot' cameras that have a remote port are almost impossible to find, I've never seen one myself. These cameras are designed for quick, low cost use. They're no used by professionals because they have little features or manual controls. I suggest waiting until you can afford either a good webcam or a DSLR. They're the best options for brickfilming.

It would probably be a good idea to look on the Nikon website, they have a list there of what cameras are compatible with their remotes.

Try setting it to self timer mode. It is not as good as a remot, but it gives the camera time to return to its original position when you release the shutter button. You do need to be gentle though.
