Okay then. Moving on. No more Forrestfire.
While I was on YT one of Forrestfire's more recent films came up, and I thought to myself perhaps I've been slightly unfair on him. I still dislike the style of his films, but I was mildly curious to see if he had improved, so I watched a few of his most recent films. Long story short: I didn't like his films then, I don't like them now. Some people are claiming Forrest "grew up", but really, aside from an improvement in animation quality there's absolutely nothing that's changed about his films. And while I'll freely admit that his animation quality is impressively smooth, the only reason it's like that is because his insane popularity allowed him to devote huge amounts of time to animation. I wonder how he managed to make his "Captain America" film without getting sectioned by a psychiatric hospital. (The amount of likes and views that thing has made me question whether there's any hope left for humanity.) I genuinely don't understand the appeal of his films.
OK, I've said more than enough about Forrest, and I know this isn't really relevant to the thread, so I'll shut up now. No more Forrestfire. I promise. Grosses Indianer-Ehrenwort.
Enough forrestfire lame wars (see it shuld be called LAME wars instead of FLAME wars because its lame!)
You just broke a three day run of zero forrestfire commentary, feel ashamed.
Actually, two days.
Eh, perhaps you're right in that I should have just left this thread be. Still, considering the fuss everyone seems to make when a new discussion about FF crops up, the actual discussion always seems to remain remarkably civilized.
I guess what I wanted to say is that even after looking at Forrestfire's latest work as objectively as possible and giving for want of a better phrase a second chance, my opinion of him hasn't changed much at all and I still feel the same way about him as I have always done (and I still don't see how some people can claim he's "matured" when his work is basically the same as it's always been). I wasn't trying to start a "lame war" or anything, but to just see if my opinion of him was justified or whether I was being too harsh. Or something like that.
Anyway, I'm just wasting everyone's time by going on about this, so I'll stop now and do what I've always done: ignore Forrest, get on with my life, and hopefully find the time and inspiration for animating some (I hope) worthy additions to the brickfilm genre.
Did you see NXT's reply to the video? He is well aware of it.
I am not a fan of Michael Hickox but copies of his uploads are getting out of hand.
It has over 500,000 views http://youtu.be/AYw6CpB_cHk
In the comments, there's another jerk. A fake Michael H profile commenting "you copied my video THIEF".
A few months ago I encountered a fake "Lego Shopping" video with a whopping 1,000,000+ views.
I can't find it anymore, maybe it was taken down for copyright.
I'm pretty sure this thread is for the community to get together and report the scums profiting from the hard work other people make.

Wow, I had nearly forgotten about this thread. Used to be some of the most hilarious fun to be had on the forums when I was back in grade school.
I stopped watching Michael Hickox years ago. He used to be all about making entertaining shorts, but now he's all about commercializing off his videos, just like SpongeBob and ForrestFire101. I can see how others would think that it's good that he's making a living off his brickfilms, but the classic feel of his films is long gone and pretty much curled up into a ball and died about three years ago. I would give a hoot about how people are ripping off his vids, but it's kind of been happening for years, and it's normal for popular brickfilmers to get their films stolen or ripped off or "remade". It's not really such a big deal anymore, and I don't see why these "YouN00b" comment writers are getting so worked up over this. If these things could be stopped, than they would be stopped, but it will keep happening, forever and ever, yea verily.
Example. And yes, I know that this link has been featured prominently throughout the earlier pages of this thread--I would know, I've read the entire thread, post-for-post, about three times when I was younger, and more of a n00b--but I merely wanted to make an example. Plus, the comment section can get uproariously funny at times, especially when that Gueda Cheese guy is around.]

This is right. When I started this thread years ago, it was not supposed to be for people moaning about popular brickfilmers, which it looks like is what it became. At the beginning, it was mostly videos stolen from community members being reported so that the original creator could take action.
I didn't know this topic existed, but i've been copied once before too.
My crappy Christmas 2012 special:

Some n00b brickfilmer who copied the audio and the general idea of the film:

I tried taking it down by flagging it for copyrights but it was so much of a hassle that i haven't taken action.

Let's do a compare and contrast.
WoutStopmotion:
good animations
good lighting
370 views
113 subs
16,804 views (in channel)
TheSuperjuan2000:
animates no more that 10 FPS
lame lighting
347 views
295 subs
433,717 views (in channel)
If I were you I'd report him/her out of jealousy...
Well i've finally got around to reporting the video. If i'm right he has copied more but i can't find the original videos, and besides that i'm not the owner of the original videos. I swear, this video has been done before...
I'd just like to say that there is no doubt FF101 is making high quality videos now I used to dislike the guy, but after Captain America video I was like "ok, he improved a whole lot". And I'm not trying to start a lame or flame war. It's just really obvious, he improved a lot and I wish him well, he still belongs to our community (our as in people who make/made lego films). Good for him!
I swear, this video has been done before...
I have a funny feeling that this guy isn't an imposter... https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCNYIkwnyWirPTpAYsppTYfg
He must have five or more YouTube accounts...
Then again, there's nothing out there to prove he's real.
