Topic: Animating minifigure to walk on smooth tiles surface

Hello everyone, I'm having a problem animating one of my figures on a flat tile surface. I've pretty much mastered the walk cycle with studs, it's just a matter now of getting the minifigure to walk smoothly in position properly. I already tried clay, but in order to make the figure stay in place I need to use a lot, so the clay is visible and it leaves me no choice but to painstakingly paint it out in post or just deal with it. Does anyone have a solution for this that will allow me to properly animate a walk cycle on a smooth surface? Also, what can be used other than clay that's stronger and wont be visible?

Sticky Tac is stronger than clay, but I cannot guarantee it won't be seen. It's all a matter of practice I suppose, but I really do recommend the sticky tac. It's the best substance on earth and Mars combined.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

I flirted with walking on a flat surface for about 2minutes , realised how painful it was going to be, then played a computer game instead.  mini/confused

I would agree with rioforce. I've always favoured sticky tack over clay because it's stronger and cleaner. Hiding it is achievable to an extent, just try and hide it behind the feet mini/wink Also, I might add that it might be difficult to do the same kind of walk cycle with tile pieces, when I made this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IE4Uxe33tb8 the walk cycle was much simpler than on studs I found as you could simplify the movement, just tilting the body from side to side and moving the arms back and forth  (This was also using white tack). Hope I helped! Good luck mini/smile
