Donated $10!
Small update for everybody: after talking with Doug (Vandy) we've determined that we can afford to produce dual-layer DVDs for the BiM collection, and keep our overhead much lower than we anticipated with even single-layer DVDs. This means two things: we will be able to fit more classic films on the collection than we thought, and the money we've raised through Kickstarter will go significantly further in funding the film than our stretch goals indicate!
Donated my $25.
I'm also offering up my flat to kip in if you need somewhere to sleep.

Does this mean you may go to Europe even if you are a bit short of $13,500?

Yes.
Awesome!
I think my parents may make their own contribution (they didn't tell me what amount).
I feel really terrible, but at the moment I can only donate $5, which is pathetic considering how much I use this site and the fact I'm a mod and everything. So sorry about that, but having just started uni I need to carefully budget absolutely everything.
Did that voting/contest thing make their donation yet?

Don't feel bad, I know a lot of this community is young people without expendable income. Thanks for the contribution, every amount is appreciated.

No. They've thus far ignored all my attempts to contact them, too. I even called their office and they told me somebody would call me back, then hung up. They also deleted a post on their Facebook page asking about it. A shameful display!

Well, if you think you may go to Europe anyway, we can sleep a little easier if they never contribute, I guess.
I really hope we do exceed $13,500 anyhow.
$781 to go in 107 minutes - how did it jump so quickly? Not that I'm complaining! If you do manage to get to Europe on that, it'd be utterly fantastic.

That's shoddy behaviour. It may be their money to give, but they were clear about the prize. You should see if the terms of the contest make their agreement legally binding.
They originally said it'd be a small contribution, anyway. Not enough to sue over But still a disappointment.
they were probably hoping to donate to one of the other docs that were easily not going to reach funding so they never actually had to pay out any money. Shame Shame.
GUYS.
WE DID IT.
Boom.
In a minute, right?
Yeah!!!
So excited to see this project get that much closer to completion.
So now that we have final numbers, how likely is that Europe trip?
You mention above that it is a possibility, and adding that to the discount in DVD cost, shouldn't it be somewhat feasible now?
$700 is a bit of a gap, but if you're super-close, is there a way for folks to give that last little bit to make it happen?
Still, the easy part is over, now onto the long, tiresome journey of filming the thing.
At least for you, not for me. I'll just sit back, eat chocolates, and count the days until that DVD arrives.
