I remember a couple years ago lego had an anniversary lego bin (when they first made the "gold lego bricks") I bought it at costco for $25 canadian and it contained 2,000 bricks in it. I'll edit this post when I get home.
That's $40 AUD. I hate the 65 cent exchange rate

It isn't a good time to be importing stuff. If it was up around 75 cents it wouldn't be so bad.

That's got 100 less bricks and costs £10 more.

The only bad thing is that about 100 of those pieces are black click-hinge pieces....so they're not that useful.
I'll go on record as saying that the Star Justice set is pretty awesome. There are loads of good pieces in there and almost all of them are useful for brickfilming in some way. There are very few "standard" bricks even though nearly all the pieces are what is available from Pick-a-brick. Plus the designs are really neat.
(OT: just to blow my own trumpet, I did the inventory on Peeron for this set.)
I've got this set now and I can tell you that a lot of the 1000 bricks are 1x2 transparent red plates. What am I going to do with them?
