Topic: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

Hey there guys,

I have decided that an update/production thread would be a great for this project of mine.

Here you will see updates/pics and production of the this series.

I am still confused whether to consider this more of a series than a film, as there is no one protaginist even though one character will have more attention so here I am still a little lost and something I need to figure out.

It has been decided this will be a series.

Once again if ANYONE is a writer/editior I'd love for you to take a look at the script which will take roughly (10-15 minutes) to fully read at this time expansion is something that will only happen with time with this project/series.

Other writers are welcome to join. The expansion of the series is critical and anything you can provide or write is always appreciated and informative feel free to be apart of this series and PM me or email me and we can talk more about it. Anyone who is looking to collaborate and your a writer please feel free to add your own side of the story. However before you do so get in touch with me so I can provide you the information and what the series is about so your writing can relate to the format and settings of this series.

Thanks HOO for the edits in the beginning of the script.

[Not sure]]
Composer for Series: If I Were A Minifig].

Anyone with VFX/CGI knowledge/background that is willing to help or collaborate Please if you can help let me know. You will be highly credited, and it is with great appreciation for this series.

At this stage production of the series is going well. The episode may be done very soon! Stay tuned and check this thread regularly for new updates!

UPDATED 30/8]
Once this series takes off from later episodes I would really appreciate any VFX/CGI artist/designer to PM me or email me to help me along with the series if anyone is free and has the time to do so, with some motion tracking, glow effects, and some other effects it'd really make things a lot easier on my part and would be a great asset to have. I'll be able to handle explosions, smoke effects, post lighting and other things however there is quite a few things I could do but have a harder time doing without the help of someone who understands and is more experienced in VFX/CGI please if you are message me on this thread, or through pm or my email at [email protected]] your help will allow this series to go to its true full potential, you will be credited and acknowledged as the CGI/VFX desginer/artist of the series.

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

Hey there guys, these last few days better yet weeks have been pretty busy, but good news is production is underway.

Only main problem at this time is voice actors who still haven't submitted their lines and not responding, I am still trying to get in contact with them (You's) if you are one of them please send your lines to [email protected]] asap. As I really want to get underway of this project.

However in the mean time I have bought a lego set which will be used in the series. It will be seen mostly in the spaceport.

It's main use will be showing it self in a few scenes.

Heres the finished model:

Besides this, lego parts are getting stored and ready for building, that should take place soon, while I am waiting for
the voice actors that haven't sent their lines in yet I am expanding the story.

I would like to thank however the people who have given their lines, I appreciate it a lot.

Thanks guys,

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

Hey thanks HOO, I've sent you an email regarding some info to help you understand the script.

Walter Benson
,
Thanks bud I've received your message with praise check your email when you get a chance, it'll give you a much more detailed idea, of what you were referring to.

UPDATE!]

Alright so first things first, unfortunately one of the voice actors never got back to me via email or response on BiM which is disappointing, but none the less I wanted to make mention that the casting call for those the character thats now available: Sargent Togen is now open again for auditioning! So please if you have some time please make an audition as it will help me get into production sooner!

Now, I want to make a quick mention to Walter Benson, he gave me some great critizim along with some great pointers. One thing that did really get me, is the fact Walter was confused with the time period of the series and other points in the script. For this very reason I will now be providing that information to the public so you guys have a better understanding of what this series is about when it is based, and any other relevant information and fun facts!

LOCT the series:
Because my story/series will not follow an original story of the starwars universe rather it'll be a new story of its own basing its lore and history more into clone troopers and what their lives are like, and the part of them you haven't seen. The time period for this series will be based long after the clone wars and the extinction of most of the jedi's and sith. The remaining of them are now exiles and are to be killed on site by the order of the federation, the federation is now the greatest authority in the galaxy.

I call this time period,  "The galactic federation period" the republic is now controlled by the federation and special sectors of chosen planets.the empire is no more the empire now only co-exists and has been mostly claimed by the federation and since then a lot has changed, the original members of the empire are either imprisoned, thrown into the outter rim or work for the Federation under surveillance.

Rebellions and rebels exist now more than ever and the clones fight them off often.

Bounty hunters and pirates, along with smugglers will be seen in this series.

Q/A
(Question by Walter): Clone troopers of the republic don't have/are allowed wives or children.
In the republic although it is true that clone troopers are not allowed to have wives or children these clones being part of the federation are better known as soldiers here in reality, only their lives are in the federation. They are allowed to have offspring as it is a sign of respect and honor for their children to carry on their name and generation. Many of the troopers you see in the federation are 3rd all the way to 7th generation troopers and it doesn't end there.

(Question 2 by Walter):
Do any clone commanders actually get offices? Are there bars for Clone troopers to go to and relax? Do Clone troopers really say stuff like "bro"?
Now despite the fact it is for clone wars is for children this may be the reason for such questions and confusion, people and even myself if I was reading this before I wrote it would be questioning if this really was going to be a series based on Starwars.
To explain this to you the best way I can is the fact the series, will be opening the troopers lives even more, although the clone wars series is good (I've watched bits and pieces my brother has seen it all a couple times through) by what I see you do see a lot of them, but never what their life is like outside of battle (Besides strategic planning, etc). This is something i strongly want to work on.
Showing the viewers that when there not on battle how they behave, that they do have emotions, and are not just "cloned" yes, in this series the federation has disposed the use of original clone troopers, and believed in reproduction and humanoid clones troopers for all future research and endeavours. The federation found them more social and useful, rather than dull and useless besides shooting and taking orders.

The use of bro in this series, expresses the term brother but for short they say "bro". This is also a sign of strong friendship, for a clone trooper to say to another the term of "bro" meaning their close mates, or good pals.

And I am sure the Sargents in command would have some kind of office, room to work in, even if not this series will be kind enough to provide such hospitality for the higher ranked officers of the federation.

So if anyone else has any more questions or is confused feel free to ask!

The production of LOCT is currently on hold, as the script is now getting expanded which will include more dialog, more lore, and flash backs that will keep the viewer and series much more intriguing.

Thanks,

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

U]P]D]A]T]E]!]

The first thing I'd like to mention is a shout to HOO, for helping out with the first episode doing some editing and re-lines, Voice actors I have emailed you for the lines that need re-doing!

I have asked HOO, to be apart of this series and be the supporting writer/editor. But the delayed response and understanding his a busy person sadly I don't think this will happen. Thanks for helping out with the first episode of the script none the less.

Secondly some good news I have done a WIP/TEST short for the series, it's called LOCT - The Cult Ruin.

Although this is a test, you can expect some dialog and a familiar face from one of the characters that will be in this series.
This was rather rushed but I am quite happy with the result I was looking for in regards to the darkness and contrast.
Please check it out!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI3Q6pPp630

I have also placed this in the WIP/TEST section, for people who may not know about this thread and would really appreciate any feedback or comments, on the WIP/TEST thread.

I am also hoping to get into production of the first episode as soon as I have the characters lines re-done which is exciting.

Also I'd like to give a big mention for If I Were A Minifig who will be apart of the series as a possible character, and a composer for the series! This is great news and I welcome you with lots of praise! mini/smile

Thanks guys,

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

Time for an UPDATE!]

So it has been well over a week since the last update. That's for the reason I have been waiting patiently for one of the lines to be redone which was for Commander Lotus a very important long line that he saids was redone and helped by the great HOO. I have sent a re-cast and re-audition for Commander Lotus so if anyone can help me out, please you won't be disappointed its one of the main reasons for the delay of the series. As he is a crucial character for the Episode 1.

HOO will be apart of the series/script which is very exciting as he is a great guy, and an amazing writer. He will be a great asset and influence for the script.

Happy to have you bud.

Will keep you guys updated with production take off.

Sincerely,
Divine.

Small Update]:
Progress has not yet commenced. I do have a another possible canadate I am waiting for, for a voicing character. If that doesn't work out I have decided I will do the voice for Commander Lotus myself.

I'm also currently ordering some bricks for some scenes.

That's all for now.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

Hey Togfox,

I am a little confused by what you mean by ''shot across multiple sessions''. I can assure that was all done in one session in a few hours it was rather rushed as well. What did you mean by the set? The light flicker is understandable, as the the light I was using does flicker but it is all I had at the time available.

Glad you enjoyed the audio mini/smile

Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

The set is dark and bland.  The light starts darkish and then its suddenly bright.  Its as if you shot the first few seconds one day then came back the next day with a different light configuration.  Light flicker is bad but its usually consistantly bad throughout.  Yours is inconsistent making me think it was shot over multiple days/sessions.

I know its rushed but imo our worst enemy is ... Rushing.   mini/smile

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

Ohh I know what your referring too now, and no this was all shot within a few hours I never shoot during the day (Not currently) this wasn't light flicker rather it was post production lighting and for some reason unknown it changed the lighting darkness into a lighter darkness and I don't know why, I originally positioned it all correctly but for some reason it wouldn't stay the same.

Although you may think its bland (Which honestly I didn't) Because for the reason being this was meant to be a ruin, its dark, its empty (for all you know) and light sources were to come in, (You may not have noticed but one of the troopers was holding a torch) although I couldn't figure out the tracking and masking, hence it not happening. This was also a test for night shooting, and testing out the darkness.

Yes rushing is our enemy. Don't rush.

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

UPDATE]

So I asked earlier in regards to the narration how it should be presented and I got a couple of posts in regards to this, now although I have an idea how I am going to execute the narration I have decided to start off tackling the first scene of my series to take off the Pilot episode of the series.

So originally I won't be releasing the scene as I normally do as this time I want to finish it as its own episode. It will run from anywhere from 3-5 minutes per episode. It could be longer it could be slightly shorter. This however is an estimated time for each episode and their respected length.

Unfortunately, GGSStudio never got back to me, who was the original voice for Commander Lotus, and due to the fact I haven't been able to get a voice for him from anyone on here which is very sad. I have decided I will take the role of Commander Lotus and voice it out myself. I'd like to encourage myself to get onto this series as soon as possible.

I have began working on the set for the first scene and am still doing a bit of work on it as I write this, however it won't be complete until around tomorrow sometime. Then I will send the photos to the a select few members who are helping me with this series, who will receive an email with a picture of the set, and this will be the BETA stage of the set.
From there the picture will be looked at and anything that needs adding or removing can be said during this time. To make sure I can make the set as good as possible once this is complete the picture will be released here for the public.
Set Designing has never really been my fortay I don't have fancy pieces and such, and I haven't properly made interesting sets and such however this is what this series is about changing that side and none the less I will do the best I can to make sure it's as good as it can get. I do have lots of accessories and small custom tiles which will hopefully be brought up and put in. So stay tuned I am hoping for production/animation of the first scene to take off soon!

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

SPECIAL UPDATE!]

Today is a special update.

The production of the series has now commenced. The second scene which is a relatively small scene for episode 1 of the series has now been animated. It is 8 seconds long, and is the fist encounter with Darren and Tony. The narration has been put on the side atm and is being discussed with GentryStudios] who will be specializing in VFX/CGI for the series.

I am happy with the outcome of the animation that was shot for the scene. Although I felt it was slightly rushed I am happy with the overall outcome.

Here are some photos:
Darrens Quarters

A BETA photo that was being worked on for the Living Quarters.

The scene is pretty much complete however a small voice part for Darren was missed out and will be added as soon as I get the voice. Which won't be an issue.

That's all for now, stay tuned for more updates and let me know what you guys think!

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Life of a Clone Trooper The Series UPDATE/PRODUCTION Thread.

Sets are Not bad.  I did see these images and didn't get back to you.  Still busy for a few weeks, though not as crazy as during the summer.  The set is fine, but still seems a bit bare.  If you can think of something to break up the upper half, or something interesting to put in the middle of the room... I do like the buttons by the doors, though.
