Topic: URGENT DSLR Lens DIY Repair Help

I just dropped my camera, and it seems all fine, except the lens isn't zooming all the way.

Can anyone advise me on how I would repair, if there's a way, my Nikon 18/55mm lens? Currently it's only working as an 18/30~mm lens.

This is kind of urgent, since the lens is my main lens, and BRAWL and all...is there anyway to DIY repair it, or would I be best buying a new one?

I had the same thing happen to me when I got my T2i. The kit lens is cheap to begin with, but when i dropped it onto my table the lens would zoom but it would distort the crap out of my image.

Better off buying a new lens mate.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

It's probably dead. Most likely something internal is broken, and the cost of repair probably won't be worth it for the lens. It's hard to tell with out being able to handle the lens in person.
