I do not believe I catch your drift, my good man.

I read in some reviews that the film plays on the exaggerated fears of Americans about traveling in Europe.

Lost in Translation

Quite beautiful. Great acting; the whole thing is wonderfully subtle.

That was actually really good. Messes with the mind, you know, all that good stuff.

I am going to see "Boy in The Striped Pajamas" soon... Is it any good?

It is very good, but it isn't for any young children. It is very sad, even many say it is depressing. I think it is absolutely great and a very powerful film. Great Cinematography, great actors both young and old, and great story. It just may not be appropriate for young children. I suggest you should watch it.

Anyway, I watched

Miracle at St. Anna

I thought it was great. It is a great story about WWII African American soldiers. The many racist terms were kind of offensive, but that was how it was in the 1940s America.

Coraline (3-D)

Holy crap, that was awesome. Amazing animation, great story too.
And what was even more awesome was that I got to see it in 3-D. I thought it went out in 3-D early for some reason.:P

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Collateral

Definitely one of the most cerebral action thrillers I've ever seen. The last act of the film sort of dissolves into a less-sophisticated action/chase sequence, but at least it's well-executed (so it's forgivable). The writing was excellent, and Tom Cruise gave one of his best performances, IMO.

Well the daughter goes to Europe,

Spoiler (click to read)

doesn't listen to her dad in taking the proper precautions, hooks up with a guy she just met and gets kidnapped

.I guess you could say that's Euro-phobic, but the thought never really crossed my mind and I doubt anyone else thought that either. I guess if you are very sensitive and have to think out every single part of the film and criticize it for all it's worth, don't see this film. But if you like a good action suspense thriller with good acting and a great storyline, see this film now.

I thought Collateral was good too, MindGame.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I watched 101 Dalmatians last night for the first time in about 10 years.  Boy, that film has some spectacular animation and art design.  Truly brilliant work.  The whole thing has an awesome, retro feel to it, almost art-deco at times.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Thanks to BertLs insightfull review, I went to watch Once Upon A Time In The West.
I'm sorry, but I hated it. It's not a type movie I like, without all the talk. And then the fly
scene....

Surfs Up

I loved it. So much different than the typical animated kids movie.

Role Models

Pretty funny and Entertaining.

Taken

A good little film. Although not a masterpiece, it was just a action film. Liam Neeson is a wonderful actor, as is Maggie Grace.

It seemed different than a lot of the other cliche action flicks, yeah there were some cliches in this one, but still, I liked it.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Knowing

It's basically a dark, more worldly version of one of the National Treasure movies. This isn't a bad thing however, because the structure of the National Treasure movies works a lot better in this situation. I found the movie to be very gripping and interesting, especially near the end. Definitely worth seeing.

Watchmen
Yep, I saw it. No IMAX or anything, just a *coughb00t*cough*leg*co*cough*py*.
I thought it was quite good. It followed the grapic novel close, except that the ending was different.
There were a few bits that I find annoying, like when Dan & Laurie were fighting those guys in the alley.
One of them broke his arm so badly....
Overall a great film. Definately worth a few bucks.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Finally saw Watchmen today.

Spoiler (click to read)

Very satisfying personally, but when Edward is murdered, the slow motion stuff did get annoying, but I'm glad that was really the only abuse of the slow motion. The dry humour that was used was brilliant.

I'm curious as to what the original ending in the novel was like, and how well the movie stayed with the book, I'll have to read it sometime.

I watched Watchmen for the second time. Just as good as the first time, but I knew what was gonna happen.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Don, thats almost exactly the same ending from the movie, the one in the book changed quite a bit from what I've heard.

I don't want to know what the ending is until I've read the book.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I thought you read the book Don

The Dark Knight

Well this time I got a better look at it.

I think my first problem is that it is to differant from Batman begins.
Batman Begins was a soft with a raging up action film
I just liked that it started of soft until batman kinda starts
But TDK is just pumped full of action from the start until the ending

We get all these characters, so many of them that 2 and a half hours is to short to present them all
Like the mob, two face, the joker, batman/bruce Wayne
With the scarecrow, I would have loved to see more of him in TDK but they just suddenly pushed em out :S
The Joker, why do we only see him in public ? I wanna see him work, think, talk to his men.
The Two-face story was also just quickly done.... unless he is not dead mini/eek
They all had great moments but... yeah

Now, what did I liek about the film.... Heath Ledger's amazing performence of course. this new vision of batman

So yeah... Batman Begins truly stays the best Batman film
