Topic: ROBLOX is hosting a Lego Ideas contest.

http://blog.roblox.com/2014/06/presenti … g-contest/

Why. Out of all the MMO's that can try this idea, ROBLOX does it, with it's terrible community and games, awful moderation system, etc - all the bad parts that you can have in an online game. They clearly don't know how Ideas works in the first place - they literally think a brick bucket with a ROBLOX logo can be marketed. And i'm not even talking about how they think that the sets people submit for the contest are literally going to be put in stores just like how they send it in (Lego usually redesigns the entire thing and if a bunch of kiddies are going to send in their mediocre Lego-ROBLOX creations, oh boy, if it gets accepted, everything that's been sent in is gonna be scrapped).

Or even how they choose to be a crappy virtual Lego clone that doesn't want to be affliated with the brand (and instead, promotes clonebrands - how could they!) and now try to abuse Lego Ideas as a marketing aspect for young customers?

I'm quite disgusted.

Any thoughts on this?

Oh my, this is just funny!
Having the Roblox community flood the voting system? It could happen, but I doubt they will get a set made. If it were put into the reviewing process and passed, I will be disheartened, as there would be probably far better ideas from people that deserved the vote!

I thought they were improving, but then I saw this...
What's the point, Roblox is pretty much a game where you build worlds, why do they need a physical Lego set?

DOn't know what Roblox is, but Rebrick is taking submissions for the next wave of Lego Friends, which I would love to get into!  I just am trying to consider the following, which to me are important ingredients to a modern Lego set:
1) Moving parts/special features
2) /innovative building techniques
3) impressionism
4) lots and lots of accessories (especially important with the Friends series)

Sure, but we're talking about ROBLOX' crappy contest and not ReBrick.

Look at some of the entries.

Would anyone even buy these? Moreover, would 10,000 people honestly support these?

Also, HOO you might want to make an extra topic for that.

Re: ROBLOX is hosting a Lego Ideas contest.

Yeah. Just about everything is too related to ROBLOX to appeal to anyone outside of the game, besides that the designs suck badly. As i said before, they're even forgetting that Lego is going to redesign everything if it even manages to pass 10,000..

I doubt 10,000 actual Lego fans would support this, but surely ROBLOX has enough players to support the idea (or they'll get a free crappy item in the game if they support).
