Topic: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

So, after a long time of working, finally its ready:
GlueFace.
With GlueFace, brick filmmakers can now to lipsync their animations in 3 easy steps. And, with a bit of practice, one can also add animated eyes to a character!

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Just use the back of the mini-figure's head, and use the front as a reference for digital faces.

Anyway, I'm glad to see this is out. I've been planning a film where some eye animation is involved, and I was wondering how I was going to do it without this, but now it looks like I don't have to worry about it.

I'll probably give it a go tommorow.

Real slick.  When I find time to do an animation, be sure I'll give it a try.

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

Is there any way you could add an option to export the video with just the mouth and an alpha channel?  This looks amazing, however if I use it I will want to import just the mouth into After Effects so I can adjust the depth of field as well as add some digital noise so it matches the footage better.  If you can't I guess I could match up the animation, and then replace the video with a green footage and key the green out in AE.

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

Wow, I am definitely trying this out.

And I second what Sloth said. For some of us this is pretty much unusable unless we can export with alpha channel.

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

Wow, this looks awesome! I love when they develop software special for brickfilming, so we don't have to struggle to interlace or *complicated* hobby with regular software...

Until yet this is not possible. Open a new video is the same like "new project".
But I put this on the "to do"-list.
The current version is a "Beta".
Some times later it will be re-worked. I hope that there will be an own part integrated like "papagayo".
And I hope that it will be possible to work on the depth/blurring to, so one can edit it still in GlueFace.

If you have some more Ideas for the "to do"-list, just report them. I/we/he will collect them all, and than we will se what is possible to do.
The same with "bugs". Report them...

Ok, but I think with this version its basicly easy to edit mouth-animation to a minifig-head.
And its "open", and it works on all platforms/os.

@Littlebrick
If you use a rare head its not a good idea to plosih the mouth, true.
But at least the best way to work around with those things like digital-mouthanimations is to pre work on the "hardware". Ok, i would not do it on the jester from the "castle"-series, but on all other heads... why not?
If you would like to animate the eyes too, so its the best way like you said above...

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

Im useing this on my next brick-film. mini/bigsmile

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

I have loads of basic heads that are half scratched off anyway so I can easily use one of them.

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

@SlothPaladin and Leaonardo
I have thought an work-around to get the mouthsapes with bluescreen.

Just work with the original scene in GlueFace which you will use later in AE.
Safe the GlueFaceProject, close it.
No you have to copy a bluescreen/greenscreen-video on the place of your minifig-head video. Its hase to have the same size and lenght.
Oben GlueFace again, load your project, and you will see - the mouth on bluescreen.
Export it as AVI, and the result is you have a bluescreen-video with the mout-animation in it.

Good luck,
report if tis working please.

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

Hmm.. I tried this out, and I exported the footage as an avi., but the mouth was overly large and I resized it for a small head. Is this some sort of glitch?

Re: GlueFace for Mouthanimations

I am having some trouble with papagayo. I finished putting the words in the right place and I saved it and when I opened it up again a few minutes later, the sound doesn't come with the synced words! Do you have a solution?
