I currently have DragonFrame, but I used Helium Frog for several years prior. DragonFrame kicks the socks of Helium Frog with all of it's special features and capabilities, but Helium Frog is free. So if your using a webcam and can handle the irritation of Helium Frog crashing once in a while, go with Helium Frog, it has most of the needed features you'll need.
I guess this isn't considered a capturing software, but it is. It's DigiCamControl. I use it with my Nikon D3100. It captures photos. http://digicamcontrol.com/
I recently upgraded to Dragon Frame, I don't know if I am fully utilizing it at this point but I am very happy so far.
Only the second person to use Stop Motion Pro. It's got heaps of features. Dragonframe must be way cheaper to have such a following.

It's actually one of the most expensive.

Dragonframe = $295
SMP = $99 -> $295 (depending on version)
So, yeah - confused. DF runs on mac though so that might be it. Anyhoo ...
I think a lot of people find Dragonframe to be the most intuitive (can't speak for myself yet, I'm planning on comparing the trials soon, though) and Dragonframe is used by most of the really big studios (Disney, Laika, etc.) so it has a really solid reputation.
Can you add Hue Animation Studio
I take all of my shots using a Sony Alpha 55 DSLR and then transfer the photos to my PC. I assemble and edit them into the story line using Sony Movie Studio 13 (which has fantastic multi-track editing and a boatload of features). I'm very happy with the results.

I use Stop Motion Pro, soon to get DragonFrame, hopefully...
I'd like to use dragonframe, but I don't know if my camera is compatible. I use a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX100V, so is it possible?

Yassin, it seems as though your camera is a normal digital camera inside a DSLR case. That being said, if it has a firewire port, then it might work. You'd have to look into that a bit more. But, here's the big question, are you ready to pay $300 for animation software?

I did that, but there is a problem. I don't know if my camera has a firewire port. I don't have a firewire cable. Could I also just connect my camera with usb?

Sadly, because your camera is just a digital camera, (a very good one, by the looks of it, though) it can only import pictures through USB. I'm not sure about DSLR, as I've only used DSLRs that use film.

I don't own Dragonframe, and have never used it, but reading their website, supported cameras will connect over USB.

You camera is not a supported camera, however, so it would be pointless to buy DragonFrame.

Uh, a DSLR that uses film instead of a digital card is called an SLR, and those are definitely not compatible with DragonFrame.

Guess it just proves how much I know on the subject... I'll just stick with a good ol' plug 'n play webcam.
