Topic: Webcam Choice: HQ for lower price or Fan Favorite?
I'm going to buy myself a new webcam for brickfilming. Currently, TheLoginProductions and I share the same webcam - a pretty cheap one that came with a package someone got me once. However, it's quality isn't that great, and sometimes I forget to switch it's resolution to it's highest. The result of this is: http://www.bricksinmotion.com/films/view/4377 vs http://www.bricksinmotion.com/films/view/5435 . Quite a difference, I'll admit!
So, while surfing the internet (do people still say that? well, I do) I've found two pretty cheap (under $100) webcams: The Inland 3 megapixel webcam, and the "fan favorite" Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. Though I'm leaning more towards the Logitech, I see that it has a slightly lower megapixel level, not as high quality, and claims to have "auto-focus." If such a webcam (the Quickcam) has auto-focus, then it's bad for brickfilming, right? - Or can I manually focus the 9000? Another factor is that the Inland is a little cheaper, at only $17.99 vs the $74.99 of the Quickcam Pro 9000.
I currently use a modified version of MonkeyJam for animating, however, wouldn't be against switching to Helium Frog. But, I'd assume that both webcams work with each program.
Some advice/help would be greatly appreciated, as, I'm at a little bit of a stand-still here. If enough people sway me, I'll go with one or the other, though, right now, with the price, features, and resolution of the Inland, I'm debating on buying it at this point...
