Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Well, quite a while ago, I watched parts of Star Wars Revenge of The Sith, and I must say, watching it again in years gone by, well makes more sense. First off I praise ILM for the effects, I always thought years ago that they filmed Temuera Morrison a ton of times, but after realising, all the clones were CGI; it makes sense though, but I honestly think that they were the wisest forms of CGI used in modern day cinema. There were a lot of scenes that made me think 'why?' more or less Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen's scenes, overall the film was good, and its safe to say that this concluding film basically saved the prequels, that and John William's music.

Just go watch Spiderman 2 as soon as possible.  It's important, Mighty.

Easily the best Spider-man movie. Don't get me wrong, I love all the others, Amazing included (and even with Spider-man 3's dancing down the street sequence), but Spider-man 2 is one of the best superhero movies ever made. Damn skippy.

Mr.Peabody & Sherman
I saw it today in 3D and it was amazing I loved all the jokes and puns, and everything. The voice cast was amazing, and the animation was super.

Spoiler (click to read)

And when there are to shermans and mr.Peabody comes and says, "I need to stop Sherman from touching himself!" I laughed so hard!

Overall, a great movie, that will be enjoyable for the whole family.

I Don't Know How She Does It

I didn't love it, but this a a good movie, and Seth Myers is awesome. I did laugh at some parts.

Epic

The animation and voice cast of this movie were Epic, but, I just didn't like the movie that much. The jokes weren't really funny and overall the movie kinda just bored me.

Planes

Oh my god, this movie was sooo good, I loved it so much it is so much better then the boring super duper old Cars movie. EVERYTHING WAS SO FUNNY!!!!

OMG 10/10

I'm kidding, this movie was terrible, I was so bored, and it wasn't funny. I don't think it is a the same as Cars though. But this movie isn't worth your time, it is so bad, and it isn't even Pixar, I thought it was Pixar, so that's why I watched it, but it's not.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

OK, thats it. My housemates no longer get to choose which film we watch.

This film sucks. You'd think that with a title like this the film would at least be 'so-bad-its-good'...but its not. Its just bad.

The cinematography is awful. Every frame contains blinding post-production filters that make the film look cheap - probably because it is cheap. The makeup is awful, particularly on old-Lincoln and the vampires. The acting is bland. The only cast member you'll recognise is that guy who's the villan in everything he's in. The vampire sidekick is so obviously a vampire that its not even a spoiler - and he inexplicably has an English accent...as does the villan. The love intrest is one of the blandest I've ever seen, and literally only exists to be a love interest - having no personality outside her function.

The plot makes no sense and contains several gaping plotholes - the most notable being that vampires cannot hurt other vampires, but in the climax a vampire has a fight scene with a vampire. I'm taking scriptwriting classes at the moment, and anyone in my class can and has produced a better script than this.

I think this film was secretly commissioned by Steven Speilberg just to make Lincoln look so much better.

I thought actually, with a name like that it would be so bad, it's bad.

That's ridiculous!  Actually, I saw it in 2011.  Naw... just kidding.  NO, really!

Well, I was wrong on the year, sorry.  I'm never as accurate when I'm out of my decade, the 1980s.  I even made a mistake in Holding Our Own Episode 2.  The Madonna statement Angela says is from 2000 was actually made in 2005.  WHOOPS!

The Breakfast Club

This was a really great watch! The characters are all enjoyable and fun, and it really made me think about my schoolmates a bit differently.

Exit Through The Gift Shop

One of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time. Regardless of whether or not it's real or a prank like some people say, it's an intensely enjoyable film that really makes you think about what it means to be an artist.

Airplane!

I haven't seen this movie in a long while, and I felt like since I made a huge parody of it, I felt like seeing it again. And boy am I glad I did. It's just as enjoyable as it was when I first saw it, and I still love it so much.

Also, I've officially seen the LEGO Movie 4 times in the theater, so I'm officially better then all yall. Think a 'bout it, dogg.

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner
I liked it much more than last time I watched it in a room of distracting high schoolers who dont understand romcoms. But yes I thought it was very good and it is one of my favorite movies now. I wrote an essay on it a few days ago.

At World's End
By far this is the best Pirates of the Caribbean movie, although upon watching it a 2nd time a few scenes were less poignant than i remembered (specifically

)

We Bought A Zoo
This is one of my favorite movies but again too much Matt Damon and I don't like Scarlett Johansen

i dont want to make a new post

Blade Runner
Technically this film was impeccable and I couldn't find anything wrong with it, but at the end of it I just kind of said "so what" and kinda left it at that idk the events of the story just didnt seem that signifigant but otherwise I very much liked it.

I don't know what the consensus is on Bricks in Motion about this movie, but I love it.

It's intense, and just...    ...really good (imo).

The Amazing Spider-Man

More amazing than Spider-Man.
After seeing a bunch of the '90s Spider-Man cartoon, I was rather disappointed with the other movie in some ways, but this one was felt a lot better.  It does take a while to go anywhere, though.

Iron-Man 3

Two Marvel super-hero movies in the same day.
There is a plot twist in this film that I'm not spoiling which I thought was really good and delightfully clever.  I am very happy that it wasn't spoiled for me.  It came as a total surprise and was probably my favourite part of the film.  The little kid was a fun character, and it was interesting seeing Stark go through several challenges without the benefit of his suit.

Though, for both films, I am greatly annoyed by the ability of certain characters to simply re-grow limbs in an instant.  Even if a human did have the correct genetic coding for that to be possible, it would take some time and they would have to eat more food.  And even once you did grow back a limb, the muscles would be very under developed and one wouldn't be able to do and sort of super hero action for a very long time.

It was a pretty good twist, sadly it got spoiled for me, on a youtube comment. mini/sad

High School Musical 1
well see when i saw it before I saw everything before "Status Quo" and let me tell you i didn't miss much. the first half of the movie wasn't too interesting and didn't have any good songs aside from "Get your Head In The Game." But I enjoyed the film just as much as last time I saw it.

Breakfast At TIffany's
The only thing stopping this from being among the best movies ever in my opinion is the racist stereotype of Mickey Rooney's character which was totally unneeded for the plot of the film. Has anyone read the book/is it any good?

The Great Train robbery

Even though its only ten minutes, I think it technically counts as a movie. I find it disappointing that a silent film from 1903 with lots of over-acting and no big special effects had me on the edge of my seat more the Disney's "The Lone Ranger".

10/10

"The Lone Ranger"

This movie...was awful. It started out ok, then it just got weird and boring. I knew what was going to happen ahead of time and I didn't really care. The big fight at the end with all the CGI was so over done and boring that I almost fell asleep. This move basically just spat on the grave of the original "Lone Ranger" TV show.

Tarantino's best. The dialogue is so well written, it's just... there's no words.

I do get annoyed by how often the "N" word is used, however.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
This was definitely a pleasure for me to watch; one of the best sequel's I've ever seen.

Spoiler (click to read)

The love connection between Katniss and Peeta is so well done, and you really can feel the fear when Katniss discovers that Peeta may have been killed.

While Katniss is a very good well rounded character, most every main character has some nice development (Especially that BA chick Johanna). I know people like to rag on this film, but I found it very worthwhile.

Yeah. Spike Lee called him out on that.

I like Tarantino as a director, and I love him as a dialogue-writer, but several people have called him out on issues raised in his films (his love of violence and his possible accidental racism), and rather than defending himself rationally, he's responded with cheap-shots (I agree that Spike Lee hasn't made a good film in years, but that doesn't make his arguement invalid) or just said "I'm shutting your butt down". Its annoying, because there are valid reasons for his questionable content, but he considers explaining them to be beneath him - as though its common knowledge and the person calling him out is just being dumb.

Wow, this was a very good and powerful movie. In my opinion, cinematography at times wasn't up to par, but the ultimate message of the film came right out!
