How do you clean up grainy images(for free)? For example:

Re: Grainy Images

A quick fix would be upping the contrast a bit.
If you're filming at it looks like that, try bumping the exposure up a tad, and then going up a bit on the contrast.
You may loose a few details in the darkest corners, but it'll make the whole image look better.
It's also an easy way to fix entire clips in post.

Re: Grainy Images

I'm not sure what camera you have, but if you have a DSLR, then you might want to check the metering. In one of our films we had not turned the metering from medium subject to closer subject, and it resulted in a blurry image.

Other reasons could be white balance, auto-focus or not-so-perfect manual focus, and the brightness of the image.

Re: Grainy Images

Rockydude, you downloaded Hitfilm, right? Or did you have some trouble with it?

If you did, it has a lot of cool features that can help you clean up videos. I've just startecd learning how to use it and I use a logitech c920. (That's what you use, right?)

Look for a few tutorials on learning the basics. And fix the exposure and contrast like Pritchard suggested.
