The Matrix, awesome movie.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Lego Movie

This was great.
First off, I would suggest it to any Lego fan.  The whole thing feels like one big brickfilm and they have some really cool "practical" effects that go along with that.  Plus, the first part of the credits is cool.

For everyone else, it's an enjoyable movie that is actually funny.  I think that this movie will for sure be a contender for best animated film of the year.

8/10

The worst part of the entire movie was the planes 2 trailer that showed before it.  I don't even know how Disney pumped out a sequel that quickly, unless that was in the cards from the beginning. mini/shifty

Oh gosh, I hope you're kidding. My family made me go see that with my brothers on Labor Day. I swear, every aspect of it sucked. I don't think I've ever not laughed that long before. I know that Pixar didn't make it (and I'm not 100% convinced that Disney made this. But, it was like Pixar wanted to make fun of themselves and every film they've ever made. It's like they were actually trying to not try to make a good film (well, that and Cars 2).

Oh, Planes! Why couldn't you just go straight-to-DVD like you were supposed to?!

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Planes
I was warned by a friend that it was basically the story of Cars with no character development, but my family wanted to watch it so I did, too. He was right. It had a couple funny spots, but it really wasn't very good at all.

The Croods
Naming this film "The Croods" probably wasn't the best idea, since everyone seems to think that this movie is going to be a crude film about cavemen. It's not. It's actually a really enjoyable movie, I would definitely suggest this if you want something light and fun for the family.

Yeah, Planes was horrific; I literally almost cried while watching it. The sad thing about this movie is that they took every bad thing from Cars and somehow made it worse.

Removing all doubts, it was indeed created by Disney, but it's "Disney Toon" animation department rather than the Disney Animation department.

And yes, Planes: Fire and Rescue is scheduled to be released late this summer.

Oh, Planes! Why couldn't you just go straight-to-DVD like you were supposed to?!

Disney was smart and sent it to theaters because they knew they could make a quick buck (And they did...).

I watched five minute of Plane, and then want back to Breaking Bad.

I'm also Bappy on Discord for those wondering.

The LEGO Movie

EVERY THING IS AWESOME!!!!! The LEGO Movie was like a huge brick film, kinda, but you know cgi. Anyway, I loved it, I loved the cast and the animation and everything. Batman was hilarious. I loved it when he said, "He's the hero you deserve." mini/lol

Spoiler (click to read)

I loved the live action scenes where the shows the real world, and how they were making the kid's dad like Lord Business. The sets when it goes to live action must've took forever to build. I also wasn't expecting for Vitruvius to die.

Overall a great movie.

Also they were giving free posters from the LEGO movie! They also gave free LEGO Emmet in pj's to the kids, my brother didn't want it, so he gave it to me! mini/bigsmile

The Lego Movie

Just...this movie is unbelievably fantastic.

From the very get-go, I fell in love with the animation. There are multiple parts that have choppy animation to make it seem cartoony, but are done so well. And the humor in this film, AUGH, I choked on my popcorn a few times, I was laughing so hard. I went with a friend and we both were in tears in so many parts, it was ridiculously hilarious. And there were little tid-bits in the background that we noticed and found hilarious, so we were the only ones laughing.

And the story was amazingly well-done. I mean I knew it was going to be great, but wow. This just blew my expectations out of the 8-fps water (you'll get what I mean when you watch it mini/wink ). But there is one point where the entire movie just drastically changes, and it's where a few critics didn't like, but I thought it was brilliant and added such an amazing layer to the story. When it started, I thought "Okay. This is either going to ruin the entire film or it's going to make it so much more amazing." It made it so much more amazing.

One thing that surprised me was how dark it got. There were a few moments where I stepped back and was like "Wh-WHAT!?! They really just did that?!?!" It didn't take away from the film at all, it just was interesting to see.

But overall, it lives up to the hype so much. It's an absolutely brilliant spectacle, and it's now in my top 3 favorite movies.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I'll admit, I teared up at the end of The LEGO Movie. Something about experiencing the ultimate love letter to LEGO animation struck a chord in me.

The LEGO Movie
silly, fun, great visual style. mini/bigsmile
My on critique is it was a little too fast paced at the beginning.

Also when  Batman's song was playing during the credits both my parents looked at me when he said "blackout curtains"

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Am I the only person who's not going to see The LEGO Movie until it's released on home video?

Anyways,

The Hangover
Still absolutely hilarious. Might have pulled a couple of muscles laughing.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The LEGO Movie

I have been waiting for to watch this film for well over a decade.  In fact, I didn't even know it would exist until relatively recently, but once cognizant of that fact I became very excited that my wait for a LEGO motion picture would almost be over.  I was a bit disappointed that it wouldn't be in stop-motion, but after seeing the trailer on the 21st of June last year, I was delighted that it still had the look and feel of stop-motion.

The film is delightful and amazing.  It fills my soul with bright cheery happy feelings and it looks so beautiful that just looking at the visuals made me tear up.
The story is rather over-the-top and simple, but not at all bad.  It has the feel of being made up by a young child which somehow is actually a good thing.

I love how many characters from so many complete opposite themes can all be seen working together in an insane adventure, which is one of the things I love most about the LEGO universe.  I'm also glad that this involved, to an extent, a few characters from other franchises built in LEGO, but mostly as small cameo roles rather than completely taking over the story, with the exception of Batman, who was actually one of the secondary characters, but done in a ridiculous fashion as a kid would have him.
Cameo spoiler:

I'm very glad that C-3P0 and Lando were played by their original voices.  Though, I sort of wish that Qui-Gon was in the Star Wars scene since his actor was already in this film

One of the few things that bothered me though was that there were so many good characters that I wish more time could be spent with them, particularly Princess Unikitty and Benny.

Spoiler (click to read)

Also, I felt that too much time was spent in the live-action realm of the film.  I think that the humans should still have been part of the film, just only lightly, just barely, and in a kinda mysterious way as they were at the start of the film.  Having them all in your face for about five minutes felt like a bit too much.  I came to watch a movie about minifigures.  I don't want to see real humans with all of their skin on their faces and all.  Ew.

But really there are only small critiques I have.  The film is amazing.

I highly recommend that you watch this film as soon as possible.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Frozen
This was surprisingly good, I remember walking into the theater thinking that it was just gonna be some cutsie, 3/5 stars, average movie.  No.  Frozen was outstanding.  Everything single aspect was incredible:  The cast, the character development, the animation, the score and songs (written by Broadway lyrists Robert Lopez(Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon) and Kristen Lopez (In Transit)), the story (based loosely off of Hans Christen Anderson's "The Snow Queen), I wasn't disappointed at all.

Spoiler (click to read)

But the thing that makes Frozen so phenomenal is the ending, in my opinion, it's very similar to what Shrek did.  In Shrek, by keeping Princess Fiona an ogre, it shows "beautiful ain't always pretty".  While in Frozen, by having the "act of true love" not being "true love's first kiss", but a heroic act of Anna giving her own life to save her sister whom she loves so much.  That is truly love.

Thank you, fixed it.  SOOOOO sorry if I spoiled it for you.  Like really.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

It's okay, I tend to avoid non-Pixar animated Disney movies anyway.

And I did. Everything truly is awesome.

I was originally going to wait until around the end of the month to see this. But, my family was already planning on seeing it today, so I didn't really feel like forcing myself to wait to see it, and I saw it with them.

The LEGO Movie (2014)

I do find it funny that Australia will be one of the last to see this film, seeing as they practically shot and animated this there. Oh well.

I won't post any spoilers here (there's already a designated thread for that), but let me just say that I cried afterward. It was like "Childhood: The Movie" for me. Now that I think about it, I don't even mind that Lord and Miller chose CGI over stop-motion. Seeing LEGO bricks come alive on the silver screen has to be one of the greatest cinematic experiences of my life. I will never forget "The LEGO Movie".

The LEGO Movie 2 (2017)

It was pretty good. Not as good as the first one though.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The LEGO Movie

As everyone has been saying, this movie was out of this world. One of my new favorite films. Planning on watching it at least 50000000000000000000000000 more times before it leaves theaters.

9.99/10

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The LEGO Movie wasn't as good as "The Adventures of Clutch Powers" though.

On a scale of 1-166

166 - fairly average
1 - fairly average
somewhere in the 80's - fairly average
17 - really good

So, I'd The LEGO Movie an overall rating of 44XXXIVIV

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?
