Re: Should Brick Queen Have Lost Her CUUSOO Account?

And I was happy no one had brought this up yet.

1. We don't know what happened except what BrickQueen has stated, which is several people reported her and Cuusoo accused her of having fake accounts. So we shouldn't make any judgments or argue about it, because anything more than that is just speculation.
2. These episodes bring out the worst in tweenage Lego lovers with youtube accounts. Two other Jurassic Park projects had their comment sections closed because of angry Brickqueen followers blaming them for her ban. And her youtube video had tons of people crying for the death of the person(s) responsible when they had only gotten one side of the story and that will continue. Only the Cuusoo staff and Brickqueen actually know what happened, and not even they have the full story.
3. Brickqueen has moved on from this, and I'm happy she has, as I think she definitely went the wrong way about getting her account back by having vlog updates that got her supporters become an angry mob attacking Cuusoo and cuusoo users. That wasn't her fault but she should have realized something like that would happen.

I feel like this would belong more in the Cafe Corner, but the Cafe Corner is no longer open to everybody. Therefore, there is no place for this thread. If anywhere, though, it would not belong in the "Bricks" section.

Ya I see what you are saying. I wached all of her vids about this and I am sad for her.

Re: Should Brick Queen Have Lost Her CUUSOO Account?

Who is Brick Queen?

It helps if you provide some context and not assume everyone knows what you're talking about.

For example, providing a link.

Re: Should Brick Queen Have Lost Her CUUSOO Account?

well I never go on Cuusoo so I missed all of this and I don't even know who the brickqueen is but wow that's really too bad.

Just sayin though the best place to post this  would be like the http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/to … go-cuusoo/ cuusoo thread

seriously she needs to directly contact the staff of the website.

Also back when I was active in the Youtube community I know how petty and mean they can be. Worse than the bad bronies. And that's saying something for a fandom. (I'm not against bronies, because I am actually one. I'm against the bronies who are hypocrites and make death threats, etc. the bad bronies.)
She also mentioned something in a video about receiving messages against women lego designers. I think there is some discussion to be had about this, because you know practically 99% of lego hobbyists (bloggers, brickfilmers, set builders) are probably male. So I don't know anything based on that one mention of it, but perhaps sexism came into play in this attack? We obviously don't have enough evidence to even start a serious discussion but it's still an interesting possibility.

tl;dr cuusoo is a dangerous place

EDIT: There was this scandal against the same person two weeks ago.

EDIT EDIT: THere's a whole BLOG on lego scandals and brickqueen is involved in a lot, it seems. now, I've never heard of brickqueen so I have no comment on these issues. I'm just being reminded of what a terrible, brutal, nasty group of people lego fans can be. *war flashbacks*

Re: Should Brick Queen Have Lost Her CUUSOO Account?

It's evident that Lego and the Cuusoo team had a valid reason to suspend her account, and I don't doubt their judgement.

From what I can observe, it is very clear that DramaQueen knows exactly how to manipulate her semi-literate and cringeworthy followers to do her bidding. BrickQueen's video is quite clever; her utilisation of gender, tears and supposed innocence to evoke enough sympathy from the unquestioning masses to form a hateful Lego crusade is commendable.

Really, a video of a grown woman sulking because her Lego project was taken down due to some form of foul-play on her part is plain sad. And that prior statement is coming from a teenager who spends his weekends covertly fiddling for minifigures in the isles of toy stores.

Its quite entertaining.

Re: Should Brick Queen Have Lost Her CUUSOO Account?

Always, always be careful about jumping to a conclusion when hearing one side of the story, whether for or against. Jumping to conclusions is why you have fans of hers raiding other Cuusoo projects and, on the other hand, people like Carousel demeaning her character. None of us know the facts. The appropriate response would be to take it to Cuusoo and request a statement or reconsidering from them. Apparently that's not as fun, however, as spewing vitriol.

And topit? That "Brick Truth" blog was one of the saddest things I've ever seen. What a waste of that blogger's time.

The blog was very biased and it seemed just another weapon in the futile "war" of rivalries and pettyness. But still, it is important to have multiple perspectives and points of view on an issue.

I couldn't agree more vehemently. From what I gather, these BrickQueen videos are nothing to jump and shout about anyway. I think I might've watched one at some point in the past, but looking at the ones on this issue actually makes me ashamed to still play with LEGO. What kind of image does she paint of us? It's because of videos like these, where

a grown woman sulking because her Lego project was taken down

that I'm normally terrified of telling anyone that I, a 17 year old, make brickfilms. I do two martial arts, proclaim to the world that I'm a Twilight fan (which sometimes garners disrespect) and yet have a problem saying that I still buy LEGO, and that I make videos with it. Videos like these embarress me no end. So what if your CUUSOO project got taken down? Nobody died - that would be something to cry about. Isn't CUUSOO just supposed to be done for fun anyway? I've seen spoilt babies behave better (well, not by much, but you get the comparison).

You see, the reaction to her videos and all this uproar is why, aside from posting here (which is actually quite a restrained and well-spoken forum) I won't touch forums with a barge pole. They only cause trouble - even online, gangs gather, and you get a lot of fuss over things which don't even matter. The sad thing is that issues that do matter never get the attention they should online.

Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Basically, Carousel, I agree with you wholeheartedly. It is sad, and unfortunately, faux-issues like these make me seriously reconsider whether I still want to be associated with LEGO and brickfilming at the age of 17.

Rant over. Sorry if that was a big chunk of text. Hope the meme in the middle helps.

Well the fact is, things matter more to some people than they do to others, and it's not fair to generalize "oh all people over a certain age should be embarrassed about liking lego." I'm certainly not on anybody's side in this issue because I'm pretty sick of all this drama BUT I don't think you should shame someone for being passionate and enthusiastic about Legos! That's something that people can choose for themselves, jampot.

I'm over twice 17.  no shame.

Never said it wasn't, although generally, in the areas I've lived in, I haven't been taken seriously for liking LEGO by many people. I get it's different for different people in different places - I was merely expressing my perspective. Please don't think I want to generalise anything. Honestly, what with stuff like Bronyism existing, I think attitudes to what's 'kiddy' and what's 'acceptable for a teenager/adult' are changing anyway (it's really hard to write anything with making generalisations on this topic!)

And HoldingOurOwn, I really hope I can say the same when I reach your age.

Jampot, it was an observation, not a complaint.  Carry on!
