Topic: Minifigures Series 11 Red Herring

I've just been examining the bump codes for the new series 11 figures for the past few hours, and there is a bump conde that The Lego Group uses as a red herring, and I noticed that it could be many things.  Use yr feeling sense if you get this code:

The code has 4 dots, 2 on the left half of the bump code area and two on the right.  All 4 dots are relief, none incused.

Examine the 2 on the left side of the middle strip.  1 bump is 1/5 between the left edge and the center strip, the other 3/5 the way between the left edge and center strip.  The one on the right is slightly lower than the one on the left.  Both bumps are well south of the "equator" of the bump code area.

Examine the 2 bumps on the right side.   1 is just over 1/3 the distance from the center strip to the right edge, the other 2/3 the way from the center strip to the right edge.  Again, the left is higher than the right bump, but this time ithe difference is a little more prominent.  The left bump is jsut "south" of the "equator" of the bump code area.

Also notice that besides red herring, there are at least THREE bump codes for the Yeti.  Feel for the space where the beard fits into the minifigure torso, and find that smooth ice lolly piece.  It's easy to shake & find, and feel for the "stick" on the end of it to be sure.

In the 100+ statistical sample I examined so far (I'll be checkinf 360 in all), the Keystone Kop is cuper common, as is the bug spray guy and red rescue man.

You must mean the Constable, the welder, and the Mountain Climber mini/lol

I've never been one to use the bump codes, I find it much quicker and more effective to just feel them out.  I own more than 55 of the Collectable Minifigures, ranging from the first to the 10th series (the 11th isn't out in my town yet) and I haven't gotten even one wrong by using the feeling method since the 2nd minifigure I bought, back in 2010.

In the stores I easily go through multiple boxes to find whichever ones I'm looking for, and rather quickly too.  Like I go through about 2 entire boxes in just about 20 minutes.
So I'm just sayin' I find my way easier (and more fun, too!).  Red herring bump codes are never an issue for me...

Re: Minifigures Series 11 Red Herring

I got the bug guy/welder wrong by feeling.  By the by, It seems that Gingerbread Man and Betty Bot and I think a third character are ONLY found in red herring packages, but by no means are the red herrings limited to those characters.  The welder is common in those packages, and its own code as well, and quickly becoming the character in srs 11I hate the most.  And what's up with the overabundance of Keystone Kops?  There are about 10 to 12 in each box of 60!  Other fairly common characters are the red rescuer and the "cool" Yeti.  Hard to find characters are the Car Hop, the Blues Brother, and what I'm calling the Mr. Gold of the series: The double-sword hero.  As you can see, for this series I'm a little behind on the official names for the characters.  In the statistical sample of 200+ minifigures, I have not found a single hero!!!!  What's up with that?
