Roman Holiday

Wow Audrey Hepburn is cute and all but isn't she kind of young for Gregory Peck? Whatever it's still an interesting film.

Olympus Has Fallen
I thought it was a great movie! I really like the whole thing, but there is two things I thought was stupid
1

Spoiler (click to read)

I thought it was stupid when all the specret service agents where just going out the door and getting shot when the terrorist had a heavy machine gun

Spoiler (click to read)

I also thought it was dumb how it took the army forever to get to the white house

but other than those two I thought the movie was great and well made!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Olympus Has Fallen
Interesting movie. It was pretty enjoyable but I noticed a few flaws. For example, I highly doubt after 18months of being in the White House that all the lock codes are the same.

Spoiler (click to read)

Also, when the Speaker of the House was acting President, he was given Secret Service protection. Though, I think the Speaker of the House would already have Secret Service protection. Also, when they face scanned Kang to see who he is, wouldn't they have thought to do that before locking him in a bucker with the President?

Some scenes were pretty predictable as well. Overall, it was a fun watch, but had some flaws.

This made me giggle a lil bit because originally Peck's role was going to be played by Cary Grant instead but he thought he was too old for the role mini/lol
Interesting you should mention this film though, I only saw it once a few years ago but today (first day of school) we were talking about it in my audio video production class.

Also I saw Chinatown again and it made much more sense the second time around, and I got to appreciate the subtleties of the plot. And it is really intense on the big screen (a local historic theater does showings of classic film in the summer. I think I am going to go see 2001 A Space Odyssey tomorrow, as that's one of my favorite films ever and I'm sure it's really impressive on the big screen mini/eek

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I was lucky enough to see 2001: A Space Odyssey in a theater earlier this year and yeah, it was great.

You know, my grandparents spend a lot of time at flea markets. And they would come and visit my family, and they would bring some old movies. One time, they came, and they bought a copy of that movie with them. It looked like a good one, but I never ended up actually watching it. I don't know why; I really should watch Roman Holiday.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Yes u should even if you don't like romcoms it's just a great film in itself

Well I watched Dr Horrible's Singalong Blog just now and can I just ugh it's a masterpiece and I don't even like joss Whedon much (the avengers is ok, but firefly annoyed me a lot sorry)

I think that's a different Roman Holiday, HoldingOurOwn.

I like Roman Holiday too, I'd definitely suggest it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I haven't seen the whole thing of Breakfast at Tiffany's, but personally I didn't like what I saw as much as some of Hepburn's other films, such as Funny Face or My Fair Lady. I guess it's just my opinion though. mini/tongue

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Casablanca... Again. (Love that film, for the record) I try to watch it before starting to film again. *Wink, wink*

This one rivals Casablanca for being my favorite Bogart movie. I really enjoyed the overall message behind this film, and the way it is woven throughout the story.

Watch the Maltese Falcon, it's one of my favourite movies, and one of the best with Bogart. That and the Big Sleep.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Red Dawn (2012)
I'm not sure what it was, but I couldn't take this movie seriously. It might've been the casting, I dunno. I mean, there were some cool scenes and stuff. Though, it wasn't all that great.

I've seen them before. They're great films, but they aren't my favorite Bogart films.

Watch it. It's awesome.

Last movie I watched in a cinema was The Wolverine. I did a review of it here.

I really wanted to see Percy Jackson, Mortal Instruments and the Lone Ranger (even though the first two are only supposed to be 'okay') but I just haven't had time over the holidays. Tomorrow is my last day of holiday, so I might try and see one of them then.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

2001: A Space Odyssey
So I had only seen this once before and I decided it was one of my favorite movies ever made but my family never wants to watch it because it's creepy and none of them have ever read the book so they don't understand it so I just went to this old theater where they show old films and I watched it on the big screen and it was SO BEAUTIFUL
like since it was already a favorite movie before i'd just say it's even more favorite.
also,

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

[Lee Daniels] The Butler (2013)

A gem.

A historical drama that rises above the rest. The performances of the cast are beautiful...all except for Robin Williams as Eisenhower. Neither me nor my mom could take Williams' casting and his performance seriously. mini/lol
