Topic: Casting call help![URGENT]

Hey guys! This is something I need figured out right away here. Here are all the questions I need figured out.

1. How do I get my voice actor's clips? (the voice acting they did)
2. What do I do after I get their clips?
3. How do I contact my voice actors? (Skype, PM, Email?)
(If there are any more things you think I should know, (I'm a complete noob to this mini/dizzy ) please tell me)

These are things not specified in the "Creating an Effective Casting Call" section of the site...and I need these answered soon.
Thanks guys! mini/bigsmile

Re: Casting call help![URGENT]

1. Email is the best way.
2. Listen to them to make sure they are the right way. Maybe they took a more questioning tone when they wanted them as matter-of-fact. Then store them someplace that's labeled so you can get to them when you put them in your movie.
3. Whatever they check or use the most often, but email (since that's the way your getting the clips) is the best

Re: Casting call help![URGENT]

1. Probably email, but if you wanna get complicated, The people who voice for me (close friends) have a dropbox setup and we upload to that when voices are sent in.

2. I question why we would know this, but obviously see if its good. Also have your voice actors leave a good 3 or 4 seconds of silence at the end, so in Audacity you can remove background static or fuzz.

3. Skype or really anything for instant messaging.

Re: Casting call help![URGENT]

Do they send the files through e-mail 1 by 1? Because I heard that it is recommended that the voice actors send multiple takes of the same line. Do they send each file one at a time? Do they zip all of them? what do they do?

It's pretty logical to send all the lines at once. I prefer my voice actors send their lines in either .wav or .mp3, which are probably the most popular formats.

So, they just put all their takes in one file, which they send over with e-mail? mini/smile

Re: Casting call help![URGENT]

Usually they split files it by line, but do multiple takes on the same file.

Re: Casting call help![URGENT]

I usually record several takes of each line on just the one file, and haven't received any complains yet. mini/eh
