My friend came up with a very simple gaming mechanic and corresponding "counterstrike" gaming dice.  He also applied this system to a game where you battle lego mystery minifigures.  He asked me to take his rule ideas and make a basic rule book.  If anyone is interested, I can post a draft of the rules here.  It can be played with regular or Lego dice, and all that you need besides that and the minis are 1x1 plates or bricks, 1x6 bricks, and either a bateplate or a bunch of 2x4 bricks.  The only thing we haven't worked on yet are the stats for the characters.
