Good news everyone! Beta testing for linking a Google+ Brand Page to a YouTube Channel is now happening! I already set mine up. It's nice to have a "YouTube" tab on my G+ page. Check out the official announcement here: http://youtubecreator.blogspot.com/2013 … or+Blog%29

I gotta admit, this post reads to me about as much like outlandish science fiction as if somebody told me they're really excited about their new Segway and how it's going to revolutionize their life.

Yeah, I'll admit that was a bit too excited sounding... I was enthused because this feature should've been available months ago.

Re: YouTube

has anyone here heard of martell TV?

Re: YouTube

Don't know if anybody has already mentioned it, I may have missed the discussion, but the new YouTube design is horrendous. It makes it look like a homepage. Thank goodness it's optional (at least... for now).

Re: YouTube

Hmmm... I like it. Simple one page design for the whole site. I think it's confusing, but if the "old" youtube was similar to this set-up (not format) I would have LOVED it!

I just hit 10,000 total video views. mini/bigsmile

I personally liked the channel layout from 2011. I guess the current one now is okay, too. I've gotten used to it.

P.S. In 4 days, it'll be my 2 year anniversary on YouTube! mini/bigsmile

Re: YouTube

I liked the channel lay out in 2009, My favourtie channel design.

Re: YouTube

I think I'm gonna switch to the one channel, I like it, but I don't like the home page layout, I just want my subscriptions and what videos they update, not a bunch of videos that YouTube suggests I watch.

I agree with you, jediknight1997, I loved the 2009 layout.  Classic YouTube.

Re: YouTube

Have you seen Youtube's VHS mode? It makes everything sooooo much more entertaining! mini/smile

Re: YouTube

Personally while I will always love the original channel design, I came to really like the 2nd one (2010 design). It had a huge amount of customisation and I even found I way to make it look like a had a cool banner mini/bigsmile

Also I dunno if anyone is interested (or cares) but from now on any future videos I make will uploaded to the channel BoatsAreRockable rather than to Legomoviemaker1. This is due to the old name being lame and not very flexible and also most of my older videos are rubbish! mini/tongue

Re: YouTube

I dunno , i need to apply to a YouTube network partnership but its kind of hard to think what network i should join , anyone got any good advice to join third party networks?

Re: YouTube

Read the contract thoroughly.  Consult with a lawyer if necessary.  People have gotten a bad deal and get stuck with the network they join because they didn't read the contract thoroughly nor negotiate a fair contract.

Re: YouTube

Hmm. The current youtube layout has gotten more organized with my subscriptions. I like it. I feel more in control.

You can do anything, just have fun while doing it.

Re: YouTube

I'm not partnered with any "networks". I'm a free man. mini/sunnies

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: YouTube

That's how I like to think too. Fight the system!!

Re: YouTube

I've gotten so frustrated with youtube. Lately it seems all original content is doomed to be forgotten. Unless it is given a super generic title. Examples, "Lego Shopping" "Awesome piano duet" etc. Seems like everything with titles aren't given attention. An these are usually the better content. Gosh I hate this site. And most comments are rude, pointless, or "OMG REPOST DIS OR UL DIE 2MORROEW" I want to just use Vimeo all the time, but I'd probably lose all my followers.

Re: YouTube

It's primarily because a lot of the people who title their films don't consider metadata or anything. You can create a nice title for the film and include metadata in the YouTube title after the main title. Just take a look at how I title most of my films. Also, using metadata correctly only really helps you in terms of search results. About only 10% of my views come from search results, so the majority of my views come from my preexisting audience, sharing, etc. I wrote a blog post about how to use YouTube metadata correctly to help gain more views from searches: http://www.repellingspider.com/2013/01/metadata.html
